This echoes with where I’m at with the rumoured Averillo signing… also can fill in at 1 instead of Heath Mason

averillo is not much of an upgrade on what we have. When fit toa is almost as good.
Defensively Averillo is not great either.
we should be targeting
Allomotti 2028
Jenkins
Tago
we need to aim for better than Averillo and toa type players. We need to wait for a gun centre or continue to develop makasini
Did you see my follow up to that? What’s happening with Katoa mate ?

Read that first.....
With new teams coming in, the like of Averillo's stock would only increase. Has ability to cover many posiitons at a decent ability. The difference between his ceiling and floor is much closer than most of what we have with more upside. Seems unlikley he would break the bank either. We are already pay Taylan May good coin for one centre spot, hope we get it done and even better if we can someone convice the Dolphins to release him this year.Staggs was an example of wanting an elite player, but someone who is unlikely to come here…
Apparently Tago is under contract until 2028 ..have they given him permission to speak to the market ?
Averillo is available now to come across next year …from what we have been led to believe ..the deal could have been done already so this debate could be too late ..
Jenkins is a winger… good player but it’s not a like for like comparison…
Averillo slots in nicely to multiple positions where we've been caught short this year.I wouldn't say Tago is better than Averillo. Tago is ordinary
Apparently we are offering him an opportunity to play 6 when Luai leaves and more money then the Dragons
Someone said he is faster than Makasini and Luke L.Could saukuru take skeltons spot next season you reckon?
My source can’t get a answer about him coming for the rest of the season, as he is injured now , so I guess notI just got the mail from a very good source, that his signing will be this week
Agreed. I'd go as far as top 4 if they can get some decent time together on the paddock.Isn’t it good to see how our top 30 is transforming. I honestly believe we have a top 6 side when at full strength. Continuing to build decent depth and bringing through above average juniors over the next 2 years is going to ensure some happy times to come for WTs exhausted supporter base.
I remember AD getting run past a LOT while he was in the centers
His overall game has improved significantly since those days, but center is still the hardest position to defend from
I think you got it right at the end,I see what you are saying. I often think about the height and size of players paired together defensively. On that right side we have KPP and Adam Doueihi so maybe an option could be to split those two. Defend Averillo at 6 and AD at centre. Never ideal to defend players in spots they arent actually playing, but it really isn't a big deal that the centre and 5/8 swap one spot. Also allows AD to use less petrol so he can dominate with the ball. The modern game is changing so much, why not defend the centre at 6 and the 6 at centre.....its a simple move. AD's defence this year has been incredible.
That scares meTigers … 3 year deal for Averillo at “significant money”…

Lots of clubs in from him, let’s hope we can get it done. I remember when Riccio said we signed Skelton on “significant money” and it was $230k lmfaoTigers … 3 year deal for Averillo at “significant money”…

I don’t think defensively he is what we need, not overly big and reminds me of another To’a type player.Tigers … 3 year deal for Averillo at “significant money”…

Can we name him in tomorrow's team list.Apparently we’ve signed Jake averillo
I get it for now but medium term we have attard, Latu, solo, brooks, glassie, Andrew’s who all could adapt to a centre/wing role. Averillo is average hence why he’s not starting for the tunas! Would rather we locked up our good juniors with more upside. Just don’t like significant moneys! But I guess with bunji we trust. Can we name him in tomorrow's team list.
Bit of a worry when you hear all the other clubs initially interested then dropping off. That scares me
