Any young centres coming through our ranks?

If it was the one who scored a try in the second half, I believe it was Kyle Lovett. He is a Balmain junior, who is playing in the second row for the NSW Under 18s next Wednesday night. A very tough player, and good talent, but i'd say he'll end up in the second row rather than the centres.

Are Fifita and Gibbs off to the Sharks?

The amount of 'inside sources' that seem to land on this forum are baffling. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me, but I will wait until there is an official announcement from either side to believe it. IF this is to be true, Gibbs is a bigger loss than Fifita to me. Fifita has potential, but...

New jerseys confirmed, Harry is back!

Ok Mr Marketing genius, if you've got all the answers, could you please apply for Humphreys' job, and SAVE THIS CLUB, WE'RE BEING RUN INTO THE GROUND! Better yet, and much easier, got yourself nominated to be a director of one of the club's shareholders, and get yourself on the WT Board, where...

Wests Tigers NYC Side To Face The Knights

There wouldn't be too many sides in this comp that have three first graders in the side with the majority of the side able to back up next year, looking promising, although these comps seem to be won in the last month, so as long as they make the semis they will challenge anyone

Team for next week vs newcastle

Not sure about Ryan in the centers. The Gasnier try he rushed well out of the line and caught air, but in attack he will be fine. From what I heard McKinnon was only a twinge, so he will be right this week, so Ellis in, with Shirnack out, Tuqiri in with Utai out, and Galloway in for Groat \ \...

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

I don't think anyone is saying that Campbelltown isn't vital to WT producing our own juniors, but I think to base a whole senior club out there on this fact would be a bit naive. In reality, how many really good juniors have we lost from there since WT got it's act together as a club 2004/2005...

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

Sorry, should have been more clear. I understand the structure, what I meant was 50% of the leagues club money comes from Balmain, the other 50% from the Wests group, i.e. they both put in exactly the same \ \ Posted using RoarFEED

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

They don't all put the same in. Balmain owns a 50% share, and The Wests Group (made up of Ashfield, Campbelltown and the football clubs) owns 50%. Money comes equally from those two groups to WT, while Ashfield puts into Wests NSW Cup, and Campbelltown puts into the juniors. \ \ Posted using...

    Magpies Heritage Jersey

It will be worn in the SCG match against St George, which I believe will be the 50th Anniversary of the 1961-1963 GF battles between Wests and St George.

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

Let me just pick this apart for a second - 1\. Leagues club money - Balmain put in as much money to WT as Wests Ashfield and Wests Campbelltown combined. 2\. Stadium & Facilities - Wests may have a great stadium, but they don't use it!!! They train and have their admin base a nowhere near the...

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

I think this is the key issue in this. Balmain have been happy to merge State Cup for some time, Wests have not. Because of this WT have basically made the call for them and put all the players at Balmain, and therefore because the Wests board members can't agree to something which is the best...

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

I have a proposition that could end this…..we cab have the State Cup side called Wests Magpies who are the feeder team, and in return we call the NRL team the Balmain Tigers, sound fair?? \ \ Posted using RoarFEED

    Our injuries

Just reading and listening over the past 48 hours, I can't seem to understand how Souths got all this sympathy from their performance because of their injuries. To me, it reads as if we're fully fit at the moment, and I think this is a theme. If Benji and Robbie are playing, then any other...

    Dwyer nothing without Benji

I don't know if its just Benji, but he does need a half to direct him around a bit I think. In Country vs City Pearce really played well with Dwyer, and directed him down that left side very well.

Balmain & Western Suburbs Junior Rep Teams 2011

I think that's being a bit harsh on the Balmain guys flash. They had a very good side this year, and possibly the hardest draw imaginable, but just cane up short. I reckon if they swapped the draw, Balmain would have made the semis easy, whilst Wests would have got in the lower half of the 8...

    Try by Alex Glenn

I don't think it was the right call at all. There was definitely a case for benefit of the doubt, but there is no way in the world that if that is a Refs Call that Suttor can award a try. There is no evidence to support it, plain and simple. His explanation to Robbie was apparently that he was...

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

How in the world can you judge the one state cup side on this year so far Bug!! The fact that we have been competitive with the amount of injuries we've had this year says to me that the one team structure is successful. This is more than just about players from first grade, it's a cultural...

What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

I think to say either the south west or the inner west is more important to the organisation is a bit if a cop out. They're both a priority, and when the joint venture state cup side is in place they can split home games and train at the same place as first grade, if that doesn't appease both...
