What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

I would prefer WT to continue bankrolling scholarships for talented league players to St Gregs, Holy Cross and Keebra Park if it is all the same to you MM

All three put the same amount into the Wests Tigers. Hopefully WT won't have to rely on this for much longer.

Wests Ashfield bankrolls NSW Cup & Reps.

Wests Campbelltown the junior league.

Wests juniors out at campbelltown should be bankrolled by the club(Wests Tigers) blind freddie can see this but some old balmain diehards cant let go of the past and refuse to admit the facts of now and the future that campbelltown in terms of junior talent is a gold mine that few other clubs enjoy.Easts and canterbury remain a big threat as they are trying to create a presence out there. Its a case of use it or lose it guys. Its like having the tall beautiful blonde at the nightclub saying lets dance and your waiting for the ugly girl with freckles to finish her soda water.

We know who cant let go of the past look who started the thread blind freddie can see that also.Mate its only wests fans that start this area its like someone punching you in the face then complaining cause they hit you back.If i had a checkered past id like to try and forget it and move forward.

Im not interested who started the thread and the only person who will cop any smack in the face is the person who refuses to acknowledge the importance campbelltown has when it comes to our current and future champions.

I don't think anyone is saying that Campbelltown isn't vital to WT producing our own juniors, but I think to base a whole senior club out there on this fact would be a bit naive. In reality, how many really good juniors have we lost from there since WT got it's act together as a club 2004/2005 onwards?? Not a whole lot.

As Smeg said, I would be investing plenty of WT money into scholarships to the three schools, with those players split between the junior club depending on which school they are at. This could also be a redirection of funds from Balmain and Wests when WT are fully funded to these scholarships.

Oh is that a threat.Start waiting for the ugly girl with freckles then

You say a few old balmain fans cant get over it…. im saying who starts all these threads and that proves who cant get over it.Our best 2 players 1 come from keebra park and the other from balmain juniors so your point been.

Agree with smeg and matty sounds alot more sensible

That Matty and historically clubs like the Roosters have been the ones who let other clubs fund the nursery and come in with the money that they have in pocket by not doing that to price the clubs that have nurtured the nurseries out of the market on the in demand players just after Harold Matts or SG Ball

Its all a balancing act and we look to be headed in the right direction all up in that regard.

We are holding onto our gun juniors from all of our farms and bringing them through at our pace and time of choice

St gregs would be an excellent idea aswell as holy cross ryde one thing the kids out of campbelltown sometimes lack are an abundance of quality role models so a good education and hopefully some discipline will help these kids promote their abundant natural talent.

Geez who let the imbeciles out of the asylum this year. This forum has gone nuts! People need to respect that everyone has differing opinions. Even if they are totally wrong and idiotic.

On the funding thing that I posted. I read (can't remember where though) that it has been a three way split for the past few years now.

I respect my own idiotic opinion even if nobody else does Staks

u mean 33.33% each

I'm originally a balmain boy. But I think it's only right if we have one feeder team to releive some pressure on the cap. And wouldn't even think twice If it was known as the magpies as yes you all did give up alot as did balmain tigers but the magpie brand should never be allowed to just disappear.

I dont really see this as a wests or balmain thing but a Wests tigers thing so i think campbelltown should be more heavily weighted when it comes to junior development.

See without the repeater symbol you are implying we magically get the other 0.01% from where exactly

Dunno what you mean sorry.

I am talking about funding that is provided to the Wests Tigers joint venture by the three leagues clubs in order to balance the books at the end of the financial year.

Junior development is very important though and the Macarthur district is one that the CEO has indicated needs a lot of resources put towards it. Bit of a balancing act though.

Interesting that Wests Tigers have there own junior club in the Campbelltown district now…

I knew I should have just wrote 1/3 each! :brick:

Shouldn't the funding to Wests tigers from the leagues clubs be 50% from Balmain, 25% from Wests Ashfield, 25% from Wests Campbelltown???

Not sure I totally follow this but I'm gathering this is the model mentioned above…

**Western Suburbs League Club (Campbelltown) has a 33% interest in the Wests Football Group Pty
Limited. The equity method of accounting is used to account for the investment.
The Wests Football Group Pty Limited has a 50% interest in Wests Tigers Rugby League Football Pty
Limited. Therefore the Company has a 17% interest in the associate. The joint venture agreement
between the Wests Football Group Pty Limited and Wests Tigers Rugby League Football Pty Limited
involves expenditure commitments as detailed in Note 19.***

* A maximum of $500,000 annually

Exactly. It can't be 1/3 from Balmain, 1/3 from Wests Ashfield, and 1/3 from Wests Campbelltown because that would mean the Wests Group are paying twice as much as Balmain and it's meant to be 50% - 50%.
