2012-2013 Football (Sokkah) Thread

Well Man U were extremely fortunate, drawing Braga, Galatasaray & Cluj in their group. Hopefully they don't crash out again like they did last year.

D is for Death… The English, German, Spanish and Dutch champions in the one group, there is going to be a few deserving sides not progressing onto the knockout stages. Hope Dortmund and Ajax progress though, I hate Real and Man City.

Who does your team play this weekend ?? We have Fulham at Boleyn

Not long now to find out whether we get the rights to the Olympic Stadium Probably 2-3 weeks

That would be awesome. I think Real/City will progress, but I'll get Dortmund a chance.

Man U were just thankful they couldn't be drawn with Basel again.

Dortmund have lost too much quality, no chance

I have renamed the thread the 2012-2013 football thread.

Thrilled that Sydney FC has signed former Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero for the 12-13 season. Reportedly earning $2m for the period. Will be very interested to see how Crooky uses him.

Now the Transfer Window has closed who does everyone like the look of? I think Chelsea and the 2 Manchester clubs will fight it out for the title. 4th spot is pretty open though with about 5 clubs having a shot at it. I think the worst off club is Spurs, the Modric saga was too drawn out and as a result they didn't give themselves time to get a sufficient replacement. Add their slow start to the equation and it could be a long season.

Wigan all the way guys, think this year they will be above the bottom half. Mosses is a loss but the remainder of the team is in tack and if anything have become stronger due to the martinez complex system that takes time to understand. If Wigan start well which is usually not forth coming we will be in the top half by seasons end.

That is a ridiculously massive signing, still can't believe this has happened!

Big name but well past his best

Have to be 37-38 now wouldn't he ??

Just finished at Juventus last season. He will still be class or two above in the A-League. Hell, even Robbie Fowler looked good here.

West Ham United 3 Fulham FC 0

Quickest goal challenger tonight 55 seconds

Sorry Mark Schwarzer

Carroll played great in his debut and Vaz Te was great and worked well together

Whoa Its pretty high up here looking down at you Chris and the rest of you Scousers

PS Thanks for Carroll as well

He had a great 65 minutes until he came off

A workmate of mine who is a keen Arsenal fan is in Europe at the moment, his missus surprised him with tickets to Anfield for that match. Needless to say he was a happy camper.

Watched the first 25 minutes of that game and went to bed because Liverpool were all over the Gunners, didn't expect that result at all.

Van Persie scored 3 goals in the 3-2 win against Southampton last night, yet to watch the game though.
