18 league titles, 5 European Cups but the sweetest victory of all…..Justice for the 96!!! YNWA!!!!

It wasn't one of Thatcher's finest moments was it Chris? Good to see truth has come out.

Yeah its good that finally the truth about Hillsborough has come out

Disgusting to read that at least 41 could of been saved and they choose to do nothing

Totally agree Chris They will never walk alone

Never realized that Gerrard's own cousin was one of the victims

Holger needs to wield the axe and blood more youth. Half this squad will be over 30 come Brazil. I missed the game against Jordan but judging by reports we were woeful.

We aren't travelling to well, but we are still only 2 points behind 2nd, with home games against Oman, Jordan and Iraq. We only need to finish second to qualify (or if we finish 3rd we need to play off). It is not unreasonable to expect 10 points from the remaining 5 games (win the 3 home games, draw in Oman, not sure how we'll go in Japan), which should be enough to see us through. The team definitely is in need of a make over, but unfortunately it probably won't happen until after Brazil, Holger will need guys like Kewell and Cahill in the team for the next few qualifiers.

Three home games hopefully sees three wins and a draw realistically do it as I don't imagine Jordan will kick on against the other middle eastern nations. There's a massive likelihood that they'll draw with Oman and Iraq and will most likely beat Qatar (How'd these clowns beat us to the 2022 World Cup again?)

Holger needs to take some leadership though. Who cares what the fly-by-nighter Socceroos think? Blood in kids and hook the dead weight.

Iraq won't be as easy as some think ,they seem to have had the wood on us in the past few years

Looking at the last qualifiers at this stage one group saw 10 points finish 3rd (15 and 20 were 1 and 2) while the other was much tighter with goal differential separating 2nd and 3rd on 12, with 11 points finishing 4th, although 5th place picked up a draw and 7 losses. So 12-13 points should see us through. 3 home wins and a draw in Iraq will probably see us through. I don't like our chances in Japan though, they are on the up.

If we do run 3rd there is still a road in, but we'd have to beat a decent Asian team from the other pool followed by a South American team. I think we'll have a good understanding of where we're at in a couple of games.

I'd assume the plan all along was to get some early wins on the board then bring in some kids for the later games. I think a few changes are needed, a lot of the older guys in the team are not even that great (Archie Thompson immediately springs to mind).

Norwich 0 v West Ham 0

How in the hell didn't either team score I will never know

Ah well a point away from home can't be whinged about

A few surprises this round, Stoke and QPR holding Man City and Chelsea to draws respectively. Arsenal and Man U getting stuck into their opposition.

Just had a look at the Championship table… Poor old Wolves are struggling in 10th place. Obviously a long way to go but that's a big fall from grace.

stoke didnt let any of the big clubs take 3 points away from britania last year so no real surprise they held city to a point. QPR bought in a lot of good players (Park Ji Sung, Robert Green, Jose Bosingwa, Julio Cesar, Junior Hoilett, Andrew Johnson etc.) it will only be a matter of time before they click and hold down a mid table spot.

tonight/early morning big champions league match man city vs real madrid at the Bernebau could be an interesting match to see who gets the early advantage in the group of death

Watching my Toffees get dudded against Newcastle overnight all I can say is goal line technology can not come in soon enough.

Also can't wait for the Champions League to begin, the best thing about the Madrid/City match is one of the 2 teams gets to lose, and if it's a draw then neither of them win.
