I wish someone would just muzzle Elias permenatly. He is an embarrassment to himself, friends, and the Wests Tigers community. Never has anything constructive to say and he is so old hat he should have stayed in the last century.

That is simply not true. Tigers paid Farah $600k for money that was withheld from previous seasons. he was owed taht money pure and simple.

I dont see how you think this. Penrith have all the aces. Penrith have IC signed for 2021-2024 on big money. We have him signed on a contract for 2019-20\. Penrith are in a position to sit back and have Gould coach them through Ciraldo for as long as it takes. On the other hand we would have a guy coaching us who doesnt want to be here, lost respect of the players, constantly dogged by media AND we would lose all possibility of signing Bennett.

I think the best we could hope for would be Cleary leaves with no payout. We are not in a strong position, through no fault of our own.

As things stand right now, that is EXACTLY what would happen, right here on earth. IC has a contract with Wests Tigers to coach our club. If Penrith just sit back and say "we'll wait until 2021", then the ONLY way we could get rid of him is pay him out.

Glennb is exactly right, no one is in breach of contact at this point in time. The only way to get rid of IC is either to sit him on the sidelines and pay him per contract as usual or to say goodbye and pay his contract out in full now. There would need to be a mutual agreement between both parties for anything else to happen.

That's life mate taylor was a dud he backed him anyway he did his job and sacked him. He backed cleary too.

We can all agree pascoe and done a world of good off the field for us… we all knew pascoe does not have the football smarts as gould hence why gould could take advantage of us.

And of course the Tigers saved a stack of cash because Souffs paid that **_actual_** contract amount he was due that year ( another $600k) so that at least saved that much. If Robbie Farah accidently had both legs cut off and could no longer play footy and retired, Tigers would not have saved one additional cent. They saved money and the money you are talking about was owed for previous years. If you cant understand the maths of it, I cant help you.

This is the real worry, we have all seen Ivans true color's whether he is as conniving to dig his heels in hoping for a payout from the club who if memory serves correctly gave him a job when he was on the coaching scrapheap
would be the ultimate dog act. For clearly to
keep whatever decency he has in the eyes of not only Tigers supporters but league supporters in general he must just walk once the Tigers sign a eeplacement no payout. Otherwise if he demands a payout fine, if were going to be stuck paying 2 coaches again jire a replacement and leave Cleary on gardening leave for the next two years. So he can watch Penriths so called premiership window sliwly close over the next 2 seasons.

Who much cap left I'm not sure but the more the better

At the end of 2019 season we have a host of players coming off contract which will free up more money and room
Bennett is a smart operator
Im am sure we will see some big roster changes if he does end up coming
Love him or hate him
If Wayne signs on to Coach our team he WILL be the best and biggest signing this club has ever made
There is no one more experienced than Wayne and he is exactly what this club needs now after Cleary
Bennett always takes a clear approach in all he does

I wouldnt be too certain that Bennett would be the best thing to happen to our club though mate. Knights supporters would of thought the same and Unca played a big part in bringing their club to its knees for a few seasons. The bloke has permanent PMS so therefore would lose interest very quickly in coaching our club if he didnt have immediate success. Just like he did at Newcastle…....got moody when things got tough: played the "I've lost the support of the dressing sheds" BS card and got out of the place quick-smart.
He has form.

Cleary wants out but has a contract.
Penrith want Cleary and could accommodate him if tigers release Cleary.
Tigers only release Cleary if they have a substantial option to take over, and Cleary agrees to walk from the contract with no compensation.
Penrith then sign Cleary immediately.
Tigers Hopefully announce the arrival of the best coach possible.

We sack Cleary because he wants out basically.
I know it sucks but not as much as in 12 months if we kept him and the results got worse and the coaching options out there like Madge and Wayno were taken that too would be not very fun.

If you look at it from a different angle Ivan wanting out has potentially opened the door for someone like Madge or Wayne, The best thing Cleary did this year was show the competition that we are coach-able.
I hope we get Madge myself but id be happy with Bennet if he brings Oates and Pangai Junior along aswell ….......lol i know im dreaming.
