2019 Coaching saga -Thread

My guess is earliest resolution - Friday, most likely though next week.
Pascoe away until Thursday, also waiting on the $$$ from Riff

I still think we should hold Ivan in a basement deep in the bowels of Concord for the next two years.

A better place would be under the Glen Morrison Memorial toilets.

I think the only reason they went after Ivan in the first place was to secure Nathan. There are a lot of coaches out there better than Ivan they could have pursued just as hard. Do the Panthers have a better chance of winning the premiership with Ivan there over Ciraldo? I'm not so sure.

The difference in the situations is that Penrith can wait for 2 years. We can't. I just want him gone.

Then that will be Gus' 10 year plan!!!!!

He has a contract for the next two years. I personally think that he will fulfill that contract.

Cool, thanks Col. Maybe you should call Pascoe and tell him to stop interviewing replacements then?

Yes, who knows what Pascoe has been thinking talking to these other candidates while we have a solid and committed coach already.

Pascoe must be a useless yeah. Fancy just going off of media reports and interviewing other coaches while we have one contracted. What an amateur :unamused:

Rothfiekd reported in the telegraph that WT Board has directed Pascoe not to release Cleary under any circumstances until minimum 1/2 million in compensation is paid.

He probably had a deadline and needed to get a quick story into press. Then came up with that one on his way to Stilettos in Camperdown.

AVO and Patriots hate for Ivan is overwhelming without knowledge from the club….dont make this all about what you guys want...its the nrl and anything is possible...

We can’t have Madge ‘locked down’ CB as that implies he’s signed a contract. Cleary is legally our coach until 2020.

Well, Manly just signed Hasler without Barrett leaving. What's the difference?

Noooooo!!!!
We dont want to pay both

Exactly, it might be a romantic idea to have Cleary scrub toilets for the next 2 years, but it means we’d have two coaches on the books.

Really?
Barrett submitted his resignation letter.

Thanks TT. Can you please clarify why he was in NZ then? That’d be great.

I say good on Manly. The bloke quits but wants a pay out. Who would give that jerk another job?

Can you honestly say Pascoe is acting like a CEO who knows his coach is committed to the cause. I just cant see how you cant justify that statement.

Ivan signed for 3 years initially, after that he can do what he likes…you and avo are making it personal without getting confirmation from the club....I will wait until I here from Pascoe and the club before I start talking things such as untenable,he is a dog ,he is off the bus...so much immaturity without facts...

I dont know Pascoes business itinery, the fact is you are calling for Ivan to be replaced asap without knowing the facts …as I said Ivan has said he will honour his contract which he has until 2020,after that he can do as he likes, can you factually tell me he will not do a professional job for the next 2 years because of a rumour or something that doesnt suit your cause...
If he is replaced ,sacked or whatever it is up to the clubs board and ceo to notify the members ...I havent heard a thing yet so I will presume Ivan is with us until 2020......NO MORE NO LESS end of story for me ..

But I thought the law experts on here said that wasn’t possible lol.

Barrett submitted his resignation letter.

His 12 months notice. Just like I'm told Ivan has given his notice.

Look, I'm not saying it's identical, but Manly are making Barrett work if he wants to get paid. It's possible we could do the same.

The club has told us Ivan asked for a release and it was rejected. Pascoe has also told us that his relationship with Ivan Cleary has been fractured, what more do you want the club to say. They aren’t going to give us an update on how their negotiations with possibly 2 coaches and the panthers are going.
