Go South's!

Would be a bit of karma if TPJ misses I reckon

Can't seem to find any game day schedule... Just wondering if any other games on during the day, I'm assuming only NRL first grade unless there's a QRL game?
I've noticed 9 only just started advertising their broadcast commences at 6.30....no time was advertised between now and last Saturday on their ads.

Two InTrust Super Cup preliminary finals, 12:15 and 14:45, both supposed to be telecast on Ch.9:

Can't cheers for Souths...the scum of the league. Finding it also very hard to get enthusiastic for Penrith as well. Will probably just ignore Ivan in the coaches box and quietly clap their good things.

Sigh

Sutton will be riding home the winner. It does not matter how inept he is he got the gig.Expect one of the teams to be handed the game

Go Benji!

Souths forwards are nowhere close to Penrith's IMO. Both spines and centres are a tie. Penrith has much superior wingers. Penrith has a better bench too.

Penrith will dominate the yardage early on. Then if it gets to the 10-8 or 8-6 type position, Penrith has too much grit and determination to let it slip this time.

Souths have won just one tough game in Week 1. I can't see Souths winning this at all.

I'll be cheering souths, because of Benji.

Also surprised that he said he doesn't want to retire just yet.. maybe a front to have the media all over him when he does do it on the weekend..

Is there justice in sport? This is the question that will be answered on the day.

The sporting universe is profoundly unjust if Ivan Cleary rises to the level of a premiership coach.

Two very dislikeable teams. The only good thing about this GF is one team will loose.

going to be a very interesting game. if Reynolds' groin isn't 100% and he can't pin Penrith back into a corner then it's going to become very difficult for Souths. if Souths' middle holds its own like they did in the first week then it'll go a long way towards them remaining in the contest. both benches will have a lot of sway with the result, Burgess and Arrow for Souths and Leniu and Martin will be massively important for their respective sides.

I really feel like it's Penrith's grand final to lose. gone the long way round but have improved week on week through the finals, and just about played the perfect game last weekend. Souths have Wayne Bennett in their corner but gun to my head I'd be backing Penrith.

Is it too much to ask that they both lose??? Obviously we all hate Penrith but I just can't stand souffs fans, they are the biggest bunch of fair weather fans going! Or at least all the ones i know are. I'd known people 20 years with never a mention of footy till 2014. Both coaches are arrogant tossers too. It may be sour grapes but i really didn't want either of them to make the grand final.

I'd love to see Penrith lose back to back GF's and Benji deserves to go out a winner, so I guess I'll be cheering Souths (yuck)

What a terrible Grand Final featuring my 2 currently most hated teams, only consolations being that Latrine and TPJ are not able to take part.

Wished that Chin Jr could have been rubbed out for a week, but unfortunately that was never going to happen.

My only hope now is that whoever wins has the title taken off them for a salary cap, drug or other spectacular breach of the rules.

Not going to happen but I can only hope and dream.

Penrith’s defence is exceptional.
It’s not just their front on tackling but their up and out slide and scramble. They have proven very difficult to score against this finals series…especially in games 2 and 3.

Game 1 = Souths burned the Penrith edges for 2 tries. They could not secure the knockout blow despite trying for 37 minutes. This is uncharacteristic defence for Penrith and these edges have been tightened since.
Game 2 = Parra scored off a lucky bounce from a bomb. They tried to score again for the next 70 minutes to no avail.
Game 3 = Melbourne we’re denied tries for 62 minutes before scoring from a lucky mistimed grubber. They could not score the knockout punch in the next 18 minutes.

Interestingly, if any of these teams scored 2 or more tries, they beat Penrith. If Souths can get some lucky early tries on the board, Penriths attack may not get them based upon their output over the past month. That said, their attack is awesome and will surely click this weekend. Souths just aren’t as good if both play to their potential.
I have Penrith winning by 3 tries.

I can sort of understand what you are saying about Benji, but he has me in a quandary because he completely lost me after that episode in the Auckland Blues jersey and then the spiel about never being able to play against the Wests Tigers etc, etc.

I must be getting a bit soft in my old age, because come the end of the day, I guess I have to admit that Benji will always be regarded as a Wests Tigers legend and I guess if anyone going around in the Grand Final on Sunday deserves to go out a winner it would be Benji. Pox on the rest of the scum.

Rather have someone pull rusty barbed wire out of my ass than watch this GF

Kinky.
What are your thoughts on pegging?

My recently acquired dislike for Penrith (looking at you Ivan) is going to override my long standing dislike of Souths. So I'm going for a Souths win but, realistically, can't see them getting up again over this Panthers side.
In any event I've brewed a pretty nice stout which now has about 3 months age on it and I've got about 15 litres of it left in the keg, so by the time the final siren goes I may not even care that much.

Very jealous. Love a good stout. I'm sure it'll be much more palatable than the game!
