2021 Roll Call

Born and bred in Ipswich …little place about 15 kms out of town called Karalee

Moved to the mining town of Moura …west of Rockhampton …hoping to rekick footy career …at that stage the new CQ Extended League was being spoken up and would have been a chance to look after my career options in the Mines and get paid to play a hopefully highish standard of footy

Moved because I had a good mates sister in Moura teaching at High School at Moura …and she went on a holiday after school year and died in a freak diving accident …two boats went out …each boat thought she was on the other boat and they left her out there …extremely sad

Just didn’t work out …it was just bush footy and even the Broncos weren’t looking at setting a feeder team in the comp at that stage and really just moved from contractor to contractor without getting a job at the mines which may have been fortunate …not long after moving the last Moura Mine disaster which killed 6 people occurred

Now in Gladstone been here for 28 years …2 kids …talking to you guys and gals lol

I'm not kidding TT ..I'll give you an example ......Bachelor Party came on TV about a month ago ...I couldn't remember the name of the girl who plays Tom Hanks fiance ....few weeks later ...dead

I have weird poo like this happen all the time .....Dean Jones ...was trying to remember his highest Test Score 207 or 213 .....few weeks later ...heart attack

I'm not trying to be funny .......

So when you forget things about people they die?

Yeah, I've had a few similar things in my life so I can see where you are coming from. Not so much the being the last to see them, but being mentioned in a friend's suicide note and a couple of things where friends died when I was younger.

It just ends up being something that becomes apart of you and never goes away.

Yep VF : been thru Ebor [Ebor Falls] but not during Winter tho.
Such a lovely drive along Waterfall Way from Coffs Harbor to Armidale and a fab view looking towards the ocean from Dorrigo.

Grew up at Kingsgrove, been at Glen Alpine for 25 years after short stints at Cronulla and Croydon.

I have had several invites to play at Campelltown Golf Club,but havent had time to play...isnt it at Glen Alpine...they tell me its pretty good...

Born in Balmain, moved to Leichhardt in the '80's, Dallas Texas for 5 years then back to Balmain. Played for Coppers and Five Dock RSL and a little bit of grade for Wests ( Tigers didn't want me ).

I’m no one special but I played with Wayne Pearce from u12’s to u16’s at Coppers. I played 2 seasons in u23’s for the Maggies in 80 and 81. An eye opener...

I also played SG Ball with Junior, which was under 15’s in those days, and even then everyone knew he was destined for greatness. He wasn’t fast or big but he just tried so hard. So damn hard…I thought I was more skilful than him but that doesn’t count for much when it comes to the crunch. I think the same applies today. Gary Jack was the gun when I was at Wests and you knew he was a star right off the bat. Strongest man ever, could beat everyone at push ups, chin ups, arm wrestles. Also still has his first 10 cents.

Yuh had a go TB :+1: , and for that you have achieved more in life than I ever have.
