Don't know where to post this and don't want to resurrect it . I see the
Team Relocate thread has been shut down and while I agree it was full of stupid ideas eg Adelaide Tigers -really !!!
I do think the club needs to explore more options and not just same thing year after year . Certain people just want same board ,same CEO ,same grounds
Same names of our Cup Flegg ,Ball and Matts teams .I want changes !
Please don't stifle debate but the relocate thread was going about it in the wrong way !

Agree, when I was in business it was called a stretch target but aimed at getting as much out of any team that you can. Aim for 4, maybe not, but 8 becomes a real possibility.
Just don’t aim for 12th and say that was a better year, yes it would be, but a soft target.
Then again, I don’t think Toddy sat his team down and said we’re aiming for top 4.
He looked at the cattle he had and then developed strategies around that, even took on Taumololo and look what happened.
His approach to Taumalolo came straight from a book called The Art of War by Sun Zhou. If you haven’t read it, you should, especially with your coaching aspirations.
 
None in terms of competing for a NRL
competition.

I feel we should be aiming at top 8
a finals slot would be a great improvement
a win in a semi would be absolute fantastic , please don’t all think negative , we need positive thoughts on this new and I believe improved coach and team

With due respect..if you’re not targeting the top prize, why do you think that is not negativity?
The aim of every team surely is to at the very least, play in the GF?
Why did we get rid of Madge? He was starting to make some ground with the mantra..Wests Tigers are always in a (word removed, coach specific use) game. So much so he had all but the negative fans believing it.

I may have mentioned this before,but what I would like to see is that when the final squad is announced and we know who is here in 2023,the top 17 that is finalised,have a real winning attitude,consistency and strong support play for each other every game...
I know we had problems in 2022 with injuries,sackings and players leaving,however this is an opportunity for the club to turn the lacklustre attitude around ..
winning games by a mere field goal after an intense battle is exciting,but then the next week get hammered by 30/40 points to weaker opposition is absolutely appalling...
This is why we need very good depth and competition in all positions..
My expectation is that we show much improvement on field,as this is what generates interest and income from the fans and members,winning bolsters the game day crowd and creates that "cant wait until next weeks game" instead of the harsh criticism we get week in week out and we hang our heads in shame for supporting this rabble...
I cant wait to renew for next year as I always do,getting the spoon hasnt affected my life one bit,its a game....
I look forward to climbing up the ladder next year even finishing say at 14th is an improvement from where we are now...
As the wise man told me once ""small steps son,small steps"".....
 
I’m sure coaches aren’t setting goals which include position on the ladder. They maybe asking the players, amongst other things, where they see themselves at seasons end to gauge an idea of self assessment.
But the real goals relate to individual performance and are mostly easily measurable.
 
Top 8 pipe dream, lets put it out there. Even winning 12 games didnt get you a jersey into the finals this year and if we are being realistic who in the top 8 are going to regress Raiders 'maybe'.
Manly, Broncos, Titans had off years and on paper have better sides. Bulldogs have picked the eyes out of the tranfers market 2022 and as for the rest we will be fighting it out with the Dolphins, Warriors, Saints and Newy.
For me this year I will guage there success by not by the wins on the board but by the effort on the field. Tackle hard, run hard grow combinations and compete for 80 minutes and by doing the little 1% that go unrewarded we can show us the fans they are having a GO!! thats all I ask.

Not sure you can go from zero to hero overnight. If the “new” culture , coaches and players buy in we should see some significant improvement in 23.

Imo I think we should always be aiming at continuos improvement, and see where that takes us.
