The Kinks album I worn out to the white canvas featuring Apeman and Lola plus many other brilliant songs.

And the best Aussie by far was the completely unknown Leon Berger from the Muso's Club

Now thats a track.

Came around to the Kinks in the 80's loved it. Never forget being in London at Waterloo Station seeing the sunset over historical London a year or two ago. Waterloo sunset is fine!

Thought you might have went with “LOLA”

:roll

I intended to but Apeman came up first. I have a close friend a real Lola - terrific personality. His brother is the same but timid and when he bends over he/she pushes the top of his blouse back so you can't see his non-boobs. That makes me cackle.

Not rockers but Simon and Garfunkel were so sensitive as was then Cat Stevens.

You might not recognise the Recorder Player on the Left, thanks to his mingy beard, but once he starts singing it's a pretty cool realisation that ya gotta start somewhere on the long way to the top … (BTW to think I wasted those Recorder lessons back in the day!)

Terry Kath's guitar playing was up there with the very best ever.

Absolutely! Hendrix was even quoted as saying Kath was the best guitarist he'd ever heard. Real shame we lost him at such a young age - one of many great losses to the music industry.

You can enjoy a history tour of the Van Morrison pubs in Belfast.
