A lack of class - will never put away the lower teams

We are a team of toilers (with a few decent players). We win games by giving 100%, holding the ball, winning the penalty count. If we do those things, we can stay with the top teams and grind out the top teams.

But because we don't have that extra bit of class, we will never just play a lower ranked teams and win. We don't have overly threatening backs, hole punching back rowers, pace, or props who just steamroll through. We don't have the cattle. Its a weak weak roster and Matterson, Mikaele and Jennings make it stronger than last year, but the same gaps are still there. We will just never roll through the weaker teams and put them to bed. The class isn't there. Fonua, Jennings, Masters, Thompson, Mbye etc, are all solid but none scare an opposition.

it's in our DNA that we are the worst favourites in the league, regardless of the cattle. through 2010 & 2011 it happened plenty of times, we just don't deal with it well for some reason.

This post is spot on. We started the rebuild last year and we have a very solid and deep squad. It’s one that wil be anywhere between 8-12th every year. We need to continue elevate the youth and sign 1 origin level player every year and another quality first grader. It’s a marathon not a sprint we need to see how we are travelling by round 12.

Our 6 and 7 were crap, so was our 1, but our halves never gave us a chance, Benji is cooked punt him to reggies, and Brooks needs a rocket up him

And thats why its been so long since they played semis. Imagine winning just half of the games they are favourites in. It hurts them every single year.

Its our supposed highest class players who just dont get it. We arent a team of plodders we are a team whose halves just cant focus for 3 games in a row.

its a mentality issue not a class issue.

The quality of our "high class players" is not the same as the quality of other "high class players". We aren't plodders, but we are not a class side.

I would swap our 1-5 for every other 1-5 who ran out this weekend.

Im talking 1,6 and 7 and your talking outside backs.

When will the penny drop both Farah and Benji are now reserve graders pretending there careers are something different. Brooks is a pretender he offers nothing and the time is fast approaching that a decision will be made about him .Put these 3 together and you get inconsistent outcomes coupled with a few average performers and no goal kicker gives you the current Tigers team .

Don't call out the 6 or 9\. You are just a hater if you do. One more year….......

Considering that both the 9 and 6 would be playing reserve grade at any other club I say my assessment is spot on ….. not a hater just see things for the way they are.

And you're right. But you'll cop the hater tag.

This forum is amusing when we lose. Same players get the blame. The TEAM played poorly Dogs were very strong.

Dogs were great even if we were good it was no guaranteed win. I wrote off the Dogs before the game I thought they'd be no chance deserves me right for being cocky you can never be too sure of early season form. I can't remember the last time Foran had a game like that and it had to be against us.

Why does Snakes post not surprise me??
Two extremely good games , then when most of theteam goes crap, it automatically means that Farah is a reserve grader.
There’s plenty who deserve reserve grade before Farah, going on this years form lol

Brooks and Mybe certainties to play -barring injury next week - regardless of performance.
Benji's got nothing to prove as far as Im concerned, and his position is tentative at best with Reynolds on the way back.
Brooks and Mybe are key players in our team going forward, and still have plenty to prove. Today was well short of where we need them to be if we are to have any impact - so I think their performances are far more concerning than Benji's thats all. Hoping for a better display next week.

Nah …. this was always going to be a tough one to win.
Early season with two poor losses, media, coaching staff and club greats on their back to perform .... the players had to respond.
And the dogs still have a very aggressive and tough pack of forwards.
They beat us last year off the back of that aggression and enthusiasm.
So our boys had to turn up for this game and no doubt they trained to be up but from what I hear from the forum posts ..... our spine didn’t perform and the forwards were not on top .... so we got creamed.
Hope we can reverse this and bring our best game to Penrith!
