Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

Would be a master move by Pascoe and Clearly to pull their contracts

If its true and they havent signed contracts yet then if we have pulled ours

whats stopping Dogs and Easts pulling theirs now as well and offer less?

Then Issac Moses will come pleading back to ask for our offers again

We could either
1) Tell them to get stuffed and lower our original offer
2) sign other players anyway and they lose alot of money and probably fire their manager

anyway hopefully stuffed them up big time

It would be karma personified if Issac Moses has cost them huge dollars.

I would go to bed with a serious case of the giggles

He also screwed up the final play which cost souths a chance at a final field goal attempt, passing to the wrong player.
Not the first time either

No that was Cody Walker who called the play.

Interestingly, Johns was frothing all over Cook but as soon as Farah came on Souths were back in it. Also Souths supporters on the forum are backing Robbie over Cook.

We've all been talking about the obvious distractions these contract talks have been having on our team, the next month could be an ugly time for the Dogs, players unsettled at the thought of being moved on. The wheel will turn

The Dogs deal won't fall through. I don't understand why you would want a backrower at 900k per season on the cap when You have Tolman, Graham, Klemmer, Kasiano all under contract. They have board elections next year and need to buy votes.?Woods and Foran achieve a goal irrespective of the short term damage.

Yep that's how I saw it as well - can't deny what's in front of your eyes, there for all to see.

Im actually loving this. We lose three players to different teams , but those teams (except for para)
will have to get rid of alot more players in order to sign one of whom we have lost.
Which means we can sit on the sideline and wait to see which players these teams will let go of , so we can go after .Its almost a win , win situation for us.

I see your point, but I don't think losing Tedesco could ever be seen as a win.

We all love Teddy but some other full backs can read play better or somehow manage to stop more tries than Teddy. It could be just the rest of WT defence is hopeless so Teddy is just outgunned? Isn't the primary job of the FB is to stop tries rather than score points?

I agree with most of this. It's almost win win. We'd have to be able to say get 2 players from Rorters in exchange for Teddy. Latrell Mitchell and Connor Watson would be good. And James Graham in exchange for Woods.

The players they release will be sought by other clubs as well.I doubt if there would be an exchange of players

Why would we "have to be able" to get anything from those clubs? Our players are off contract, it's not like we are bargaining with those clubs and them getting our players is conditional on what they are going to give us.

Theres no way Woods deal falls through. He'd take less if the Dogs needed him to. They're not adverse to backending deals either as shown by James Grahams contract, although i thought the NRL stopped these backended contracts?

What you're forgetting is that you'll only get the players that they want to release, not necessarily the ones that we want.
Take Woods for example. I've always been a critic of his lack of fire and slow PTB's but he is good as a metre eater. He's not worth the money that he's getting from the Dogs though.
We are getting a harder headed prop with Matulino, but without the metres. Together it
would make a hell of a difference to our team, but we aren't gaining much asit is.
Graham would be a step forward, but we'd only get him if no one else wanted/ couldn't afford him.
Whoever we get at fullback will be a giant step backward , as we will see when he gets behind the pack at the Roosters. He's had to do it all here, but with players creating holes for him there, his game will improve out of sight next year.
Probably the only bright spot is that the game will see the best of him next year. Unfortunately it won't be with us.
As for the halves, Moses won't be missed, I think that with a good 5/8 Brooks will improve a lot.
The one stumbling block with him is finding a good 5/8 that will come here, it wont be easy.

Me either mate,he was the only one I was desperate to keep. But pandering to players who have never got us to the 8 isn't a recipe for success either. Your fullback can't be the best player in your team. 6,7 or 9 win you Comps
