Didn't see the segment tonight but from the sounds of it, Woods was ordinary. Sounds like it's time for him to hop off the bus.

It's about to be replayed now Willow..if you get a chance watch it and decide for yourself…

Haven't got Fox mate

Couple of Short grabs here Willow

Just the juicy ones

Thanks mate. Watching those clips, I'm not too concerned by what Woodsy said, to backtrack on my previous comments. My take on that now is that if we can string a couple of wins together, and Woodsy is sold on Cleary's plan and coaching methods, he'll stay.

Very hard for Woods to come up trumps next to James Graham - just an impressive bloke.
Not too much wrong with Woods tonight a bit of foot in mouth when asked the tricky questions but if you had it in for him as some seem to have at the moment, he provided opportunity to dig the boot in with some ordinary responses.
Got to do better Woodsy to get the mob back on side.

lol , Regrading Moses "Good luck to him. I hope he wins a grand final." - Woods

I was undecided on Jason Taylor but he deserved to go for making Woods captain alone!
Lawrence being the obvious choice imo.

Just like Potter deserved to go for picking Anasta over Austin

I prey for a quick decision from Teddy and Wood's. This circus has gone on long enough.

i dont get it all.
some of you must just seriously hate woodsy or are so frustrated with the whole thing that your all jumping at shadows.

yeah, he dosnt speak "eloquently" - ok fare enough
i thought he was honest.
some of the things he said about making decisions when your in a bad frame of mind were absolutely correct… yeah its a bit dumbed down but it was simple and for me anyways, i preferred it.

lets be honest - the 4 of them didnt sign because they didnt have any confidence in the coach.
thats as clear as day now.
dosnt that also explain why its taken so long ???
and now, yeah...lets see... a few wins... a good team environment .. a good understanding of the new coach and who knows ....id like to think its 50/50 and in that scenario... take a few more weeks if we get a better result ! ! !

people seem to forget, in his entire time as the captain - hes been soaked in controversy.
hes had zero time to warm into it
hes been on the backfoot the entire time
hes doing his best not to fan the flames because we all know he knows alot more than what he says openly..... but stilll..... not good enough aye ??

i mean come on... some of you are talking up james Graham like hes a class act...
he talks well, but hes the type of man the bit another players ear off in a game... a big game...
have you all forgot or do you think "speaking well" justifies being an absolute grub.

yeah yeah, woodsy hasnt decided.. hes had plenty of time... hes a trator if he leaves... how could he.... blah blah blahhhh ....

but what if he stays !
will some of you sorry whingers put your tales back between your legs and start grovelling at how hes the man again. i bet you, you will. sad !

yeps agree ….. a few wins... a good team environment .. a good understanding of the new coach and who knows ....id like to think its 50/50 and in that scenario... take a few more weeks if we get a better result ! ! ! why not ?
if he stays..great... if he leaves so be it and the club moves on !

He sounded undecided to me too. He said he doesn't want to make a decision when he is angry or frustrated. That could be interpreted as he wants to see how they go in their next couple of games before he decides. Not sure how that speaks to team loyalty.

From the outside looking in it seems like he doesn't know his arse from his earhole.
"Wants to see how we are going as a team in a few weeks"….....so if we win 3 on the trot he will happily sign up? What happens if we lose 5 in a row after he has signed-does he then ask for a mid season release?
"Wishes Tigers fans would just ask him about on-field stuff instead of his contract negotiations"...... well Az, the ball is in your court re: your contract with our club, nobody to blame but yourself brutha!
Agree with others in that he probably had the Tigers captaincy thrust upon him last year, and it has been a trial by fire for him as captain since he took over, but if it is getting too much for him to handle he should just tell the club he wants to step down from the captaincy and let someone else in our team take over. There is no shame in doing that.
He is doing himself no favours by acting aloof and uninformed and basically just dragging this whole farcical, sorry mess out for week after week.

He is a regular going by the past 6 times this year don't expect to much..

I'll link it later..

"Arrrrrm…i havent sat down with my manager even though this has been going on for months and im sick of the conjecture"...."arrrrmmmm i just worry about footy"...arrrrrrm no one really cares what i do so im gonna drag it out"

He said in the next two weeks last night !
Impose a media ban on yourself for the next two weeks Woodsy for your sanity and those who cant wait that long please.

I just wish we could secure a couple of hardnosed forwards. If we did, I'm sure it would go a long way towards Woods making the decision to stay.
He's a very good prop - but he needs some help.

Without a doubt this is the major part of the problem. He has been carrying our pack for years with little support.I find it amazing that people want him gone and replaced by players who have always been in strong packs and imo are lesser players.I would not swap Woods for any of the other props mentioned but would welcome most of them here to support him(not packer).

Speaking for myself, i've never grovelled to him. I've always thought he was a buffoon who should get a haircut and have a shave. My opinion won't change whether he re-signs or not because imo he should have already re-signed months ago. If anything it would only lower my opinion of him further as re-signing earlier could have avoided our season being derailed. He hardly deserves to be applauded for re-signing now. The horse has bolted and the damage is done as far as i am concerned.

Just watched it. There were elements of the interview that weren't great by Woods but I didnt think he came across as badly as some have suggested.

The comment about Moses winning the GF was made in the context of a hypothetical where the Tigers dont make the finals but Parra do.

The "angry" comment was more "frustrated or angry". That is, it seemed to be more aimed at the recent poor performances and not wanting to make a decision at a low point. I can probably get that to some degree.

Given how annoyed I have been with his lack of leadership I expected that I would react more adversely to this interview.

But I sort of just see him now as a guy with limited intelligence, lack of emotional maturity and an inflated view of his self-importance. He clearly takes himself too seriously. Im not angry at him for his behaviour, it is just who he is.

The contrast between his comments and the obvious intelligence and maturity of James Graham was stark.

What a brilliant summation, southerntiger. Woods is nothing more than a media construct of who he or his manager thinks he should be. He's just not smart enough to do anything about it.

The hair style is a classic example; have something that defines you or identifies you at any cost. People will look at the superficial stuff and not the cold, hard facts; he's not an inspirational leader, he's not a match-changing forward like a Taumololo or Burgess or countless others>

He's not a great example for the younger forwards to learn from like Ava or Sue or Aloiai. He is an over-rated, over-exposed typical footballer. I'd table a contract about $150K less than offered now and add it straight onto Tedesco's offer.

We can replace Woods with someone equal or better. We can't do that with Tedesco.
