Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

I just watched it. I feel sorry for Woods. He just doesn't handle the media well. The guy doesn't even handle his manager well. He just seems to put his head in the sand and hope it all goes away.

Graham talks so well.

Didn't see the segment tonight but from the sounds of it, Woods was ordinary. Sounds like it's time for him to hop off the bus.

It's about to be replayed now Willow..if you get a chance watch it and decide for yourself…

Haven't got Fox mate

Ill be honest it's embarrassing watching him next to James Graham each week.

Says he hopes Moses wins a Grand Final At Parra? What sort of rubbish comment is that.

Graham is intelligent, fiercely loyal and firm.

Woods has no idea.

I would love them to trade clubs.

I actually feel a bit for Woods. He is just not captaincy material. That's probably half the reason he wants to leave - he is not cut out for this.

You might be right about him about not wanting the captaincy.
He looked very tired tonite, maybe he should stop his fox appearances for a bit.

Must be taking its toll fronting up to 360 every week too and getting asked awkward questions… Oh yeah that's right he's getting paid handsomely for this.
How hard is it Aaron?
Just make your 150 - 200 odd metres and two dozen tackles each week... That's all we want

And maybe a small hint that he's even remotely committed to our club wouldn't go astray either.

Think he is still a decent chance of staying, I reckon we will know next week after Para and the result will have a big factor.

I thought he was fine. The quote about wishing Moses wins a GF at Parramatta has been taken out of context.

That said, he is under pressure and it is down to time. If there was no change in coach he could have dragged this out as long as possible, however the club wants an answer now and the media is aware.

He's buying time for Dib and Hassler to shed players that's all. I'd pull their offers now and then the Dogs get them cheaper.

The guy was okay, good Aussie she will be right attitude. As captain he understands that players want to be there and happy for them to perform well, and he is just the same as Moses and Teddy.

Just watched it. There were elements of the interview that weren't great by Woods but I didnt think he came across as badly as some have suggested.

The comment about Moses winning the GF was made in the context of a hypothetical where the Tigers dont make the finals but Parra do.

The "angry" comment was more "frustrated or angry". That is, it seemed to be more aimed at the recent poor performances and not wanting to make a decision at a low point. I can probably get that to some degree.

Given how annoyed I have been with his lack of leadership I expected that I would react more adversely to this interview.

But I sort of just see him now as a guy with limited intelligence, lack of emotional maturity and an inflated view of his self-importance. He clearly takes himself too seriously. Im not angry at him for his behaviour, it is just who he is.

The contrast between his comments and the obvious intelligence and maturity of James Graham was stark.

Yeah like a sore thumb. If it was him by himself you'd forgive him for being forced to do this weekly. But when you have Graham speaking much more eloquently.

The telling thing from Kent was when talking about speaking to Moses as a friend rather than a captain. Valid point; this difference is Iike the difference between a manager and a leader. Just because you are a manager doesn't mean you are a good leader.

Yep a leader would have tried to keep all the boys together through these difficult times. That clearly wasn't a concern of Woods, rightly or wrongly.

Thanks Geo I don't have fox neither.

Not saying it's good or bad but to me it sounded like a clumsy interpretation of a mind coach speech to me.

"We are footballers and when we go home we are family men…. It gets to you.... Got to be in the right frame of mind.....

I couldn't gauge any intent on leaving or staying. I genuinely think he is undecided.

I said it before I'm not sure he is enjoying captaincy and took the role at first but didn't quite understand what it entailed.

He sounded undecided to me too. He said he doesn't want to make a decision when he is angry or frustrated. That could be interpreted as he wants to see how they go in their next couple of games before he decides. Not sure how that speaks to team loyalty.

For the record - I still hope he stays*. He's one of the best props in the game, and we're light on for forwards as it is. His performances this season, and for many seasons, have been exemplary on the field.
It's all the contradictory nonsense in the media that's irked me, especially from the captain and supposed leader of the club. To go on there tonight and complain about how long it's all dragged out, and then claim he hasn't even sat down with his manager… That's ridiculous.
He then claimed he hadn't spoken to Moses about going or staying and more or less claimed indifference, to the extent he hypothetically wished MM and the Eels win the GF.
I understand misdirection is par for the course when speaking about this stuff, but he needs to remember that he's still representing WT (for the moment at least).

* provided the $$ are ok, which goes without saying.

He said he'd like a draft period during the off season as it's all too distracting doing it now.
How about signing the contract put to you in the off season then?
Talk about blaming everyone else.

Ex…....actly, and ours was a few weeks longer than many teams, so plenty of time and some before the season started. Don't want to see stuff changing 24/7, well sign one of the bloody contracts or at least give out something other than the most wishy washy dribble that you and your manager can come up with.

x 2

I got the impression that he is hedging his bets, as he hasn't decided yet. He hates being in a losing team and wants that to change. He seems to be looking for signs of an improved future at the Tigers. Unfortunately he is not a real decisive leader so hasn't got the balls to want to stay and lead the club to better days. A lot of the problem that he shares with the other 3 is that their game or the teams game was so stagnant under Jason Taylors coaching regime.
