Even that is stretching it Flip. You'd have to alter your entire life just about. I reckon its all the processed food we eat now. Sets you up for big trouble as you get older.

Yep you're right there, have you seen some of the poisonous crap they put in canned and packaged food? No wonder there are so many more weird diseases around these days. There has been research suggesting that aluminium may have something to do with the onset of dementia and it's in heaps of things, including antacid drinks, like neutralon and mylanta, which my father practically lived on.

@GNR and others who have had family or friends suffer from this dreaded disease,I can only symphasise with you and hope some type of medical progress is found to ease the effects of it,I can only imagine how watching a loved one deteriorate from it and it effects people terribly..let's hope the less this disease raises it's head the better..God bless all and be strong in your hour of need…....

To give you an example, me and my gf went out to Penrith this morning. After we were done, we decided to get something to eat. I've been trying to eat healthy lately, so i suggested getting a sandwich or something. Driving up Mulgoa road, its scattered every 100m with Maccas, Hungry Jacks, KFC, Red Rooster, etc. nothing healthy at all. It just proves, that its so easy to eat junk, you don't have to look too far at all. If you wanna eat healthy you almost have to reenact Moses journey through the desert.

GNR,What no subway enroute home? less fatty or greasy, summers almost here and fresh salads are plentiful.

I do agree there is more crap food readily available than any other and I suppose it comes down to choice…...

Nothing wrong with Red Rooster if you avoid the chips and take the skin of the chicken

I've just been struggling to get my head around this

My Grandfather is in the last throws of his life , he is very ill and has probably lost 50-60 kgs

And dementia almost takes up his entire life (his is 89 years old and has lived a monumental life he has been very lucky in that sense )

But what is just tearing me apart is this

His son committed suicide in 1994 left a note which the family kept

But due to his dementia he had somehow totally erased what has happened to his son

He has been asking Mum what happened to her brother and she decided she wasn't going to tell him

He must of found the note and he is now mourning again for a lost son

I just can imagine anything worse , having to go through your child suicide twice

Sorry I'm just venting , but if their is a higher power I can't forgive you for this

My grandmother is in the closing stages of it. She dipped into a coma a couple weeks back and managed to wake back up, but its just delaying the inevitable. She's just a shell. Dementia, along with Cancer are 2 of the most evil diseases you will ever come across.
