HaHa…yeah Chris...the vitriol in this thread regarding the Club is pretty funny....

The only thing that gives me a bit of hope out of all this is that Taylor, Moss and Co must have known what they were getting themselves into cap wise before taking on these gigs. What Penrith went through shedding players was similar to what we are seeing at the Tigers. That seems to have worked out OK for the Panthers after a couple of years, but it is pretty clear that 2015 is a write-off for us.

Not sure about Taylor - there are only 16 jobs going and it's not like he's Craig Bellamy, so he may just have thought something's better than nothing. But agree wholeheartedly about Moss. Difficult to imagine he'd take a job without checking what the situation was.

I'd also agree that maybe this is exactly what we need to do. **That said, at least at Penrith they were vocal about having a five-year plan or whatever.** I can entirely accept that what's going on with the Tigers' roster might be for the best, but fans are fickle and will need more information about a long-term plan - or at least assurances that there is one.

yea can't wait for all the winging from this forum when the tigers come out with a 3 year plan.

"TALK IS CHEAP"

"im not believing anything till i see it out on the field"

etc. etc. etc. for the entire offseason.

Adam Blair…I will not miss:

* His 3 or 4 penalties per game....
* His lazy marker defence....
* His sub 100M per game...
* His inability to walk the talk.....

Here, here! Cant understand how so many fans overlook these issues that have been there from day one at the Tigers

And I thought that 3/4 of the punters on this forum would be doing handstands!!

They have bitched about Blair since the day he arrived here. Now they are bitching that we let him go???

The off season is far to long for some people.

I've had time to digest this and I'm happy.
\
\
I'm basing this on games where Blair annoyed me vs games where Blair didn't annoy me.

Simple maths showed me it's good he's gone.

So every body thinks it is about money ..does it seem strange that the 3 best performers of the club last season have asked and been given a release? Are things at Concord as rosy as being made out! Maybe these players wanted to leave the club as they could not stomach the dummy spitting and unprofessional behaviour of certain types in the player ranks as well as the club ,the way Potter was treated was disgusting to say the least and there are still people in the world that have principals and might seek a much more harmonised employment environment. But yes it just is probable about money!!!

Austin left purely for stability and the money

Thompson actually resigned for a further 2 years then had a change of heart and wanted to go home to NZ

Blair money and nothing else pure and simple there because he knew after his previous years at the club the Tigers would not be offering anywhere near the amount the cap rorters ( Broncos) offered
The end

it's beginning to look alot like christmas.

i'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
we were the worst team in the nrl at defending penalties.
blair would be top 5 in conceding penalties.
that my friends is a liability.
plus the fact he was ordinary over 24 rounds of club football.
when the chips were down he rarely put his hand up for the hard yards to lead the youngsters,it was them leading him.
but inside the opposition 20 he just loved getting the ball.
that isn't experience i want at the club.

i think taylor said we needed second row strike power.
blair and thompson are not that.

not concerned with taylors comments

Broncos sign Kiwi Blair from Tigers in NRL
By Jim Morton, AAP

Brisbane believe they have added the last piece in Wayne Bennett's NRL puzzle by luring Kiwi powerhouse Adam Blair from the Wests Tigers. The Broncos on Tuesday signed Blair to a three-year deal after the New Zealand forward's release from the final season of his Tigers' contract. The 28-year-old endured a rollercoaster stint at the Tigers, labelled a flop in 2012 when he signed as a big-money recruit from Melbourne.
But Blair has shown great durability in the past two seasons, playing every match for the Tigers in 2013 and '14, before finishing this year on a high with the Kiwis. The 30-Test stalwart's performance in the Four Nations triumph over Australia on Saturday night showed what an asset he could be for a Brisbane outfit lacking starch and size up front.

Prodigal coach Bennett had been on the lookout for a quality prop since Ben Hannant signed with North Queensland and Martin Kennedy (Sydney Roosters) and David Hala (Gold Coast) were shown the door. "Adam is a highly experienced player," Brisbane chief executive Paul White said. "He has enormous experience at both NRL and representative level, and will bring toughness and leadership to the Broncos' squad. "And at 111kg, he will also add some more size to our forwards' stocks."

Bennett is also set to officially reveal Darius Boyd as another star recruit in coming days, following the acquisition of Anthony Milford, Mitch Garbutt, James Gavet, Travis Waddell and Greg Eden. Blair will begin pre-season training at Red Hill after Christmas, with new Tigers coach Jason Taylor granting him his release to relieve some salary-cap pressure.

Although the Tigers have also recently released Blake Austin and Bodene Thompson, and let Gavet and Cory Paterson go, Taylor has stressed the club won't make any new signings for next season. He aims to back his youth and take a strategic, long-term approach to recruitment. "We're planning for long-term success here and any decisions regarding signing new players will be made with this in mind," Taylor said. "We have a great group of young players coming through the Wests Tigers' system and, from what I've seen of them so far, I'm confident that they will develop into a strong group of NRL players."

We've always got a great crop of young players coming through . We need experienced match winning players , when Taylor gets the flick the next coach will be saying the same " were building for the future ' ….....

I guess we're gonna forfeit next season then? I'm sure most of us don't mind JT & co clearing the non-performers, and players who don't want to be here, out of the club, but geez how about getting some decent replacements for next year. If any of our starting team goes down injured long term (and you just know it will happen) who are we going to replace them with? Untested young guys playing out of their depth again? God please NO, it's painful to watch.

I really don't care about 2016 (for all we know the world could've ended by then). I care about the coming season and I want to support a competitive team in the NRL, not an outfit that ends up just being cannon fodder for other teams.

It's all very well and visionary to have a 3 or 5 year plan, but it's also important to, at least, try and field a competitive team _every_ season. The now is just as important as the future, moreso really - well it is for me anyway.

Poor first season after being told to slim down by a coach that only last week showed that he still cannot understand that it has been a big mans game for nearly a decade.

With a few kilos back on his frame, he has been a valuable member of WT, especially as he only missed one match in three seasons. I for one, will miss him in the thirteen jumper and thank him for his input off the paddock as well.

If the broncos can use him and Gavet in a similar fashion to that of our early season games, they will be in for a good year.

as much as this is a kick in the teeth id advise you to hang in there for the counter to this release….surely you wouldn't let him walk away without a plan.

If Taylor has a long term contract he can afford to field a young inexperienced team in 2015\. In the following years before his contract expires he finally brings in class players and people will say " hasn't he improved the team since he has been with WT" and bingo he earns another longer term contract with another club.

Its a shame, the last yr and a half he's been faultless. His legacy here will go down as a player that people expected way too much from cos of his paycheck. The reality is yes, he was over payed, but whose feet does the blame fall at over that. him, or the goose who signed him. People expected way too much from him cos of that, they expected nothing less than for him to be a clone of Burgess, but he's nowhere near that kind of player, yet people whinged.

At the end of the day, he missed 1 game in 3 yrs, and that one game was through suspension. Not a bad effort for a guy who supposedly never had a go, and during long of periods of players dropping like flies around him, yet he was always there. He'll never get credit for that though, its just easier for people to take cheap shots cos thats what everyone else does. The majority of fans will always be sheep when it comes to Blair, bash him cos its the popular thing to do, and never acknowledge his good points.

Thanks for your service Adam. I bet he's jumping out of his skin to play under Bennett. Bennett rates him, so when it comes to Bennett and a bunch of jaded, tunnel visioned supporters, i know whose opinion carries more weight.

My thoughts exactly … Potter comes in and it's gonna be a 2-3 year ' building for the future '
Now Taylor comes in another 2-3 years 'building for the future crap ... So we might make the top 8 in 2-4 years ???
Who's going to want to come to a club that finishes bottom 4 each year ?
I'm losing interest in this club and league in general , it's becoming a joke IMO

I wonder how much Mayer had to fork out to keep Tedesco. It looks like it broke the bank. Any chance Lawrence can follow the same path as Blair?

Is Tedesco even official? We'll probably lose him next.
