He always will be know as Bludger Blair.
He doesn't seem that fussed about leaving. He never really have a shit.
His couple of good tackles a game won't be missed.

Its a shame, the last yr and a half he's been faultless. His legacy here will go down as a player that people expected way too much from cos of his paycheck. The reality is yes, he was over payed, but whose feet does the blame fall at over that. him, or the goose who signed him. People expected way too much from him cos of that, they expected nothing less than for him to be a clone of Burgess, but he's nowhere near that kind of player, yet people whinged.

At the end of the day, he missed 1 game in 3 yrs, and that one game was through suspension. Not a bad effort for a guy who supposedly never had a go, and during long of periods of players dropping like flies around him, yet he was always there. He'll never get credit for that though, its just easier for people to take cheap shots cos thats what everyone else does. The majority of fans will always be sheep when it comes to Blair, bash him cos its the popular thing to do, and never acknowledge his good points.

Thanks for your service Adam. I bet he's jumping out of his skin to play under Bennett. Bennett rates him, so when it comes to Bennett and a bunch of jaded, tunnel visioned supporters, i know whose opinion carries more weight.

Agree totally and Im pretty sure theres a reason why the most decorated coach in rugby league rates him.As I said in a thread months ago Adam Blair is a leader of the polynesian guys off the field and he will do wonders for James Gavets game up in Brisbane.Bennetts true strength has always been taking a keen interest in his players welfare away from the game.Watch these two kill it for Brisbane next year.

Spot on GNR and not to mention his steadying influence on the younger guys in the team as well, particularly the Polynesian boys. He will be missed more than many people on here seem to realise.

“We’re planning for long-term success here and any decisions regarding signing new players will be made with this in mind,”

Ill put my little faith in this

Has worked for penrith

as much as this is a kick in the teeth id advise you to hang in there for the counter to this release….**surely you wouldn't let him walk away without a plan.**

I guess you don't know much about the workings of our club eh Roosterman?

The thing that I don't understand is this;

If we aren't signing anyone else for the 2015 season, why are we releasing Blair in the final year of his contract? Would it not be more beneficial for the Tigers to keep him for next season, then just not resign him for 2016?

I don't know the ins and outs of the salary cap, but I really don't get why we would release a solid senior player to relieve salary cap pressure, when we're not actually relieving the pressure for anyone for the foreseeable future.

I hope the recruitment team has things in order because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

So we have people with a corporate background running the club now. I'm guessing they have a plan, but they are treating us like mushrooms so who really knows?

If they don't have a plan they will quickly find out that securing a sponsorship for a losing team with zero ability to compete is not an easy fix and is ongoing for a few years. Don't even talk about membership numbers…

They might also figure out that the young guys are injury prone and you might actually hurt the young players that are basing the future on.

Any successful club is based on winning. I'm struggling to see any wins since about round 6\. Blair leaving is not the worst thing in the world but we need a real win soon

If we don't make a signing or a young bloke doesn't have a big off-season, we're in trouble next year in the backrow. Our starting backrow has gone with Thompson, Fulton and now Blair moving on. Paterson has moved on too.
I can think of Sironen, Halatau and Sue as the three who are probably most likely to start at this stage simply because they're the 3 with NRL experience.

I liked Blair. He was a good footballer and his effort always seemed to be there. He seemed to be a thinking footballer and a real professional adding good support to our young forwards.

Gavet and now Blair !
Time to change the salary cap "please".
Another rebuilding stage again!
I believe Adam Blair was gonna have a big year in 2015 the last year of his contract. A gritty player with experience who really got injured.
I know I know Young team rebuilding stage.
Young players need confidence and to be competitive. Not broken or injured on the sideline.

Blair leaving had nothing to do with Money I know for fact he's taken less to go to Brisbane.

True and you and I both know the reasons he is leaving but to be fair part of the reason he is leaving may still have a positive influence on this team.I believe he will.

He promised his wife long ago that if the opportunity to ever play in QLD came up he'd take it. She has been away from her family his entire football career. This whole thing only popped up during four nations after discussions with Stephan Kearny ( Brisbane Assisstant)
