He knows the game pretty well, and as stated has a great pass. I think he could play the structured half role well with brooks using his running game at 6. I’d also offer addo Carr good money to come back and try the fullback role. (As he is requesting] it would be a potent attacking spine.

Absolutely agree with him. I might add as well that AD is not a 7, not even in a pink fit.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but how does Gould make that assessment when he's never played fb? As a winger, he's got very little opportunity to showcase fb like skills.

He may be right, but just not sure how anyone can say it with certainty.

I think Gould has a very smart football brain, I personally (when he is not trying to be smart a..)
place a lot of faith in his judgement. The gist of the article was that managers are trying to get
their charges to upgrade to a higher position to get more money. Gould thinks JAC is trying to
do this.

I agree with him. For a guy who has never played FB in the NRL and sign him on FB money -
I think is a huge risk, I would not like to see the Tigers take that risk.

Love to sign him as a winger as I have said before - not as a FB.

The option of playing fullback will offer an incentive to come.. Reality is if the choice is between us or roosters on similar coin.. He isn't coming here. So the options are over pay him as a winger or give him him the opportunity that he cannot get elsewhere.

As for Phil Gould or any of those experts, it easy to a shell out a million reasons why something won't work but nobody is coming up with comments on what could work for us.

This interests me. Elijah Taylor should have been that ball-playing 13. He was in 2016, then once Jason Taylor was sacked, we never saw it again.

Storm (C.Smith) and Canberra (J.Hodgson) use their 9 as the game controller, the person that kicks to the corners, decides to pass the ball to a prop for a hitup or to a half for a backline attack.

Manly (Jake) and Roosters (V.Radley) often use their 13 as the ball distributor to the forwards or halves, deciding where to attack.

If we could use Grant as that middle controller, Brooks on the left, Doueihi on the right with a fast fullback who's main job in attack was to be there in support when breaks were made, I think we would be a much better team.

What has Doueihi shown from Fullback to suggest he would be a good 6?

He's thrown 1 or 2 passes all season.

Mbye has more try assists from Centre than Doueihi from FB.

Doueihi's height gives him an advantage when catching bombs at FB...admittedly he's pretty good in that department, but the rest of his game needs plenty of work.

Managers promoting wingers as fullbacks have no clue. All they do is put pressure on clubs salary caps, reduce the quality of the back up and potentially make their players less successful in the long term.

If JAC is so keen he should ask to put performance measures in there to protect the club/reward him if he can get it done. Winger salary (international) as baseline Y1 and match payment increase for every game he plays at FB. Y2 have an agreed increase if he makes a fist of it.

If he thought he could do it he won't have a problem, if he won't back himself....keep walking or take what's on offer.

We have seen him kick long and bomb well. He has thrown some good and some great passes including the cutout passes. It is the vision he shows when he throws the pass, he can see which player has the space that makes him suitable for 5/8 to me.

He is also a strong ball runner and could be a similar 5/8 to Jack Wighton.

He rally looks like he is protecting an injury when he turns side on to tackle at the moment.

I’m thinking he has a leg injury which is restricting his speed. In the past few games when a ball runner breaks through our middle, he manages to get hands on, but just not fast enough to get arms around. Teddy or Paps nail those moments.

Also Melbourne are not silly, they want someone to replace JAC and the replacement will not be George Jennings or Paul Momo...So it’s probably going to be Nofa...not worth it IMO

He’s a bench player at any other club, but at WT his best position is Full Back. Usually very safe under the high ball, but lately opposition have been targeting him.

if he sniffed around up the middle in support we would be far better off. This really shows he his learning as a fullback. coaches should be all over him.

I reckon Asu will be the long term fullback. But in the meantime he needs to go practice catching bombs in the forest behind Leichhardt.

No he doesn't, I've got a better turn of foot running backwards in thongs
