He still has some major holes in his game

I'll take your word on that cochise. I haven't seen "major holes" in his game, although there are areas I would like to see improved for him to become a more complete player, such as his right-to-left passing.

Also his defence in the front line has not been tested.

I agree that the basic ingredients are there for him to become an established 5/8.

The exact same things I want to see him work on mate. I think an improvement to his right to left passing is crucial for his transition to 5/8th

Some have built 5 year in hyping up Jacob Liddle, in WT case we have Simpkin if he does not live up to the hype.
In the case of AD and Brooks we do not have a ready made replacement they either succeed or we are screwed

This is about AD, not Liddle. Give it a rest.

we don't have a replacement for AD if he goes down or Brook really
we do for the other bloke ...
that was the point

Agreed, and it took Wighton approx 7 seasons to get there.

Madden is a big step down from Brooks and Mmbye well no, we do have a solid 9 in the wings for Liddle who would be at least equal to or an upgrade in simpkin.
In regards to Adam Douhie the season hinges on him if he fires at 6 we will make the 8

Hope he goes well.

I assume he will take on some of the kicking duties. from memory he does possess a mean spiralling bomb.

I wasn't overly confident in his abilities as a fullback however, i hope he nails this and makes it his own.

I’m not sure what you are expecting. Not many clubs have great back up halves that they can slot straight in if need by.

Agreed, and it took Wighton approx 7 seasons to get there.

Similar physical structure but different set of skills. Wighton's ammo is strength, speed, short passing and short kicking game. Douehi is more deceptive, has a good long pass and a killer bomb. Wighton also is a much better defender, whereas Douehi struggles with any lateral movement whatsoever.

Wighton does some basics really well like his reads in defence as well as having the best kick and chasae in the game. It's yet to see if Douehi has that in him, and it will take at least half a season for us to find out.

So do I. He was courageous at fullback but too slow. He is more suited to 5/8 however I am very nervous that he does tend to be susceptible to intercepts. Fingers crossed.

Nervous but someone needs to pull the trigger because I have given up on Brooks ever throwing a pass longer than 3 metres.

It didn’t take very long at all when moved to 6

Yeah I have concerns about his defence this week with him likely up against Sitili Tupouniua. I think he will do a far better than Benji did against him last year, but Sitili is a very strong runner of the ball and with Garner on his inside and Roberts on his outside, he will need to be at the top of his game.
I have almost no concerns about his offence and think Nofoaluma in particular will benefit from Adam being back.

I agree completely, a lot are saying he is similar to wighton but really the only similarity is there size. Different running styles and as you said different skillset. He will make a name for himself, although with different respect to that of Jack Wighton.

Had a chat to my dad,

Pretty much said that Douhie will be the player the Tigers need, has a voice and skills to become the captain.

His reply was: he’ll play a few years and another team will come chasing.

Which I believe is true these days.

I reckon with the footy he will be great. I'm worried his defense will be poor at times but I think his defense will be a lot better than Benji's was last year.

Cant see the Wighton comparison at all.

Some of our fans really like to pigeon hole our players.

Yes Doueihi played some outside back. yes Talau played at wing. Really means nothing other than they did the job that was asked of them at the time.

Talau isnt a winger and Doueihi IS a 5/8.

I’m not sure

He may have had a stint at souffs , but was always a tiger at heart. Can see him staying here long term with potential captaincy

But yes that would be accurate in some cases haha
