I just said something very similar in another thread. We are paying guys like Doueihi to be game winners whereas other teams have players like Tedesco, Munster, Tommy Turbo etc.

Doueihi on at best 500k surrounded by top tier players would be an asset.

I look at someone like Campbell Graham. He is so much better than Doueihi and probably paid a lot less.
 
He plays like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and that he's responsible for everything in the side. Generally, it's a good sign but Douehi himself hasn't been playing like a Ben Hunt or DCE. He first needs to get his game right. He saves himself for the flashy plays, when he needs to be the one doing the tough, dirty plays. I genuinely think he's motivated enough but not sure if he'll be what we need him to be.

I’m convinced that right centre is where he can be at his best( for this team).
But he’d probably say no, not for me,take his toys and go home.
However, would Bellamy take him as a 5/8 ? If yes, it makes me rethink coz Bellamy can identify players potential.
 
If Douehi wants to play where we need him most its center . We just don't have any decent centers . We have 2 decent wingers who rarely get ball in a 2 on 1 situation . Alex Johnson gets so much ball in overlap position no wonder he looks good . Jacko is our best organiser which is best done in the half's and unless Brooks rejects his new 3 year contract it will be a fact of life that he is our other half . Dumb to release Madden before Brooks commits
 
so we had brooks out and Hastings out for the back end of the year.

Granted coming back from an ACL is tough, but over the remaining games we scored 60 points (average 12) and conceded 202 (average 40).

If AD was the man, and up for a big salary, he would have stood up. He didn't. Club looking at other 5/8 options
 
Doueihi is a talented player for mine. Before his injury he was doing some great stuff, mainly as a ball runner. He’s quick, strong and he can be gutsy.

He came back into a team, which was starting to change around Jacko. They were looking pretty good there for a while. But it wasn’t clear, who was the boss, should of been Jacko but he was the new bloke and there was a lot going on. Then Maguire gets the boot and it was pretty much chaos.

Doueihi missed an opportunity to stand up after taking the 5/8 role and then after Jacko and Brooks got injured. The team was a bin fire by then, with more team changes, no Leilua, Nofaluma,...

I don’t know if Doueihi was just too young not to see the chance he had and taking more responsibility or if he just doesn’t have what it takes. How many seasons has he got left to prove himself? He didn’t recognise what was going on. He didn’t have to win games, but he offered nothing to a team needing leadership. There’s got to be a question mark over him as a leader.
 
He's a 80 minute 2nd rower imo. Can keep him at 5/8 if we have decent pairing with a ball playing 13 and halfback. Defence needs to improve if we want to put him the centres
 
I think you have either him or Hastings at 13 as a ball playing lock.

Hastings seems to be happy to play anywhere he is needed, AD wants to pick and choose. I know neither is resigned but I’d be letting him go if he found somewhere suitable.

You know why our wingers never get the ball with 2 on 1 situations. Because Douehi is the 5/8. He unfortunately tries to do everything on his own. He is, what is commonly called a HOG. Watch how Brown makes a break, then shuffles the ball out to the backs. Sivo would starve in our side.

We didnt release Madden, he was off contract

I 100% agree, he could do all of those things and be quite successful in the ESL or reserve grade.

In the NRL I think he is an average 5/8 and centre, but he could be better if we improve our pack significantly.
