Adam Doueihi #227

The old saying is that your only as good as your last game. We can extend that to the last season in this case - which was a shocker for AD. I can't give him any leeway; coming back from injury was an excuse early but his attitude at times stank and they way he phased in and out of the game at times made me wonder if he was on the field mentally at times.

Being behind a beaten pack doesn't cut it for me. Surely by the time Noddy took over there was an opportunity to be more creative - but we certainly didn't see it.

A completely different game plan under the new coaching regime so it is a clean slate from me. I have been pretty critical of him but I am happy to give him another shot.

Now that Daino and Smith are in in the mix and pushing him, combined with no contract for 24, the motivation to get stuck in should be bubbling out of his ears. I hope we get an opportunity to see Daino at 5/8 during the second trial with AD outside him as well so we can get a feel for what options we have. I think that is the type of attack Tim and Benji have been talking about.

AD has some talent sure, but he has a shit tin of bad habits and goes AWOL in games too often for my liking. I would like him to prove me wrong at 5/8 but for mine he is a centre. I don't think he has the fortitude to make it in the piggies so if he doesn't cut it in the backs this year he should be on his bike.
I agree. Laurie is a very good player who is only going to get better.

Agree with that earl, I'm just saying they are a shoe in for a spot until they are released, sacked or whatever. They won't go to reserve grade unless it's the Titanic.
I'm not sure either are safe, even allowing for Sheens comments on Brooks. If Moses does come this year, which is 100/1 , i would think AD will sign els where ASAP if granted a release.
Depending on this years performance, is what i think will determine both of their futures ,as well as others. Sheens has shown he will shop for key players to get success, and like us, opinions change.
if they don't perform goodnight dick to both.

Now that's not fair sleeve 🤣 my post was not factoring in moses you cheeky rat.
I dont think moses will come without his mate brooks or his countrymen AD.....back to you 🤭

Love your post cc, I think Sheens is stalling, waiting for other options in the halves. At the moment both of our halves have been behind a terrible pack, and hard to judge their worth. Brooks is the more natural half of the two, and there are few in the market place. This could change at anytime, and we may have a developing half ready in 2024. He is a professional, and to think he would persevere with bad halves is rediculous,. Ricky, Benji, Prince and others have been the key to his sides, he knows what is needed. And he will know by mid season who fits the bill and who goes.

This is the excerpt of the article
mind you, it's Paul Crawley I don't
think he has the foggiest clue on
for how long or for how much ...

Don't want to get Brooksy offside
maybe and upset his confidence
leading into the new season, who
knows to be honest. If Doueihi
gets named skipper or co-captain
in the coming weeks it will speak
volumes about the 1/2's situation.

"Meanwhile, Doueihi’s long term future remains up in the air.
Sheens would not comment on the negotiations involving any of his off-contract players, but it is understood the club has recently put a one-year extension to the 24-year-old.
Other clubs are also believed to have shown interest in Doueihi, although all reports are he loves the Tigers and wants to stay.

Doueihi even spoke about his desire to captain the Tigers last week.
Sheens is yet to confirm who will captain the team this season.
But it still seems strange if the Tigers see Doueihi as the long term solution at five-eighth, and even as the potential skipper, why would they only be talking about a one-year extension regardless of whether or not Moses returns to the club.
Luke Brooks also spoke recently about his desire to team up with Moses next year, who he played a lot of his early footy with.
Brooks is also off contract at the end of 2023, and is managed by the same agent as Moses, Isaac Moses.
If the Tigers do end up getting Mitchell Moses, it may well come down to a shootout between Doueihi and Brooks to be his halves partner next year.
Doueihi can also play in the centres and at fullback, but has previously said five-eighth was the position he felt he could reach his potential playing".

Expected both of our halves to be offered/signing extensions prior to the season beginning.

Also think that the additional year ones, rumoured to be available to younger players such as Doueihi and Laurie, work for both parties.

Good question JT but not sure of the answer, only time will tell.
I see Mr H nommed for Newy Saturday. Good luck not required coz I know Prebble won’t be riding.🤣🤣
bloody Prebble lol it is a 4 yr old an upward maiden Neasham says pulled up well and the 4 yr old upward maiden takes away that good 3 yr old chance. I think we are 80% chance to go there
