Yep, back to reserve grade. No spite but we need as much time as possible to develop someone else in that role. The club has obviously made a forward thinking move by not signing him, so they'd better continue that trend and bring someone else through asap.

They probably don't have a clue who to bring up
That's most likely why he played yesterday,
I haven't heard about any young blokes who are hammering the door down to first grade
It will probably Be our normal non winger, Rankin.
I've got a better idea, put Moses on the wing and move rankin to no 6\. At least one less target in the halves

Well our normal NON winger would have played better than JAC did yesterday.
So it would be an improvement - wouldn't it?!!!

How do you know that,
But your half right, but he should be on at 6, and dump one of the trainees

People need to get over this mercenary. He played 4 NRL games - one of them was decent. He was made a reasonable offer and he refused and signed with Melbourne, not as if he is God's gift to the wing position.

Someone says he wanted to sign 2 months ago - hang on, that meant he had played 4 NSW cup games for us into a new contract and he wanted another contract????
That is before he even played one NRL game, What the…

People on here have been jumping up and down about paying overs, signing players on potential and this guy refuses our offer - so be it.

I am sure we can find someone who really wants to play for the Tigers.

"Hit the road JAC." ... Reggies for you or go now as far as I am concerned.

Hang on I thought we were JAC's fav club…..Oh well rubbish talk wasn't it

Please, in thread after thread people are sure we will never sign another player, coach or win another game because we didn't get JAC to stay.

Good luck to the kid, he was full of it in pre-season saying he just wanted to learn, blah blah blah, whatever bud, play well while you're here and then buh-bye

Now…to the real point of the thread.

If parra, Newcastle and even awful ESL teams can sign NRL players, so can we. Players don't care about much other than money, and ours smells the same as everyone else's. There are a few exceptions at all clubs, and we have our own, like Rowdy.

If you think people won't play for us because loosing a rookie winger shows we are the worsterest club ever you are :crazy

Cronulla doing fine it hour him, so will we.

We might be able to get him back cheap next year when he is unsettled and playing reserve grade at the storm

I'm just sick of the Wests Tigers being organ donors to the larger clubs - JAC, Koro, Taupau, Fifita, Ayshford (okay I was just kidding on the last one).
Just absolute rubbish business sense by a bunch of morons

To bad he is going maybe he will come back after the 3 years but I hear that obed karwhin is half decent maybe he will step up next year

I'm at a loss why the club would not try and hang onto the best winger it has. It's not like we have any wingers setting State Cup and NYC alight.

Any decent wingers off contract this season?

They did try to hang onto him but he has rejected the offer. We shouldn't get into some bidding war with clubs like the Storm since that's what drove us to the salary cap position that we are now trying to work our way out of.

I reckon there are other wingers out there who could be looking for a start with us.

Bad reflection on the club as The Tigers put up a competitive offer and he chose the Storm because of the Club. Think about it he chose leaving Sydney and relocating to Melbourne for the same coin. It speaks volumes about the rotten culture at our club. The fish rots from the head and in Footy Club terms that's usually the coach.

How do you know why he left? I haven't seen any statement from him.

Should we let him go now??

I cant see the use of him staying here.

We arent going to trouble the eight so why give him first grade experience in front of some one who is staying?

Tigers admitted their offer was competitive so he left for a better club in his view.
Anyone any good has left this club. There has to be an underlying reason and I believe its the coach.

Play the best players to win every game. We need to build culture irrespective of who's here next year.

Hate it and it's another decision I've got to explain to the kids ( his very marketable). Do I blame Josh ? No way doing the wise thing. Better coach better facilities and a stable club , chance at future finals footy.Nothing we could offer him.

Good luck.

Or it could have just been the money. The club saying that they made a very competitive offer doesn't mean that Melbourne's offer was the same or nearly the same. The offer by Wests Tigers would be based on his experience and potential, not that they tried to beat or match Melbourne. The fact is that, at this stage, we don't know why he left.

If they don't play him in firsts, then the club might as well release him now. I want to see him in firsts for the rest of the season. There's no-one better to replace him with at the moment.

Probably not Russel, Rankin is horrible on the wing. I think he's a solid player though, does ok at fullback but like GCT I wouldn't mind seeing how he goes at 5/8\. Will never happen though. But not a winger.. We need a replacement.

You would choose to believe that!

Wish I was as sure of winning the Lotto as you using that as a reason.

I would actually think the quality of our training facilities would be the biggest drawback to signing better quality players. Not the coach.

Players don't want to go from top quality facilities to a dusty old gym at Concord. I would imagine to many players it would seem a bit amateur. Of course in the end spending money on the latest gadgets and sports medicine theories doesn't mean you'll produce better players than those doing things the old fashioned way like us, but from a players perspective they might fancy their chances of improving more with the latest technology than without.
