And why wasn't he secured with a new contract early in the season?

ah yes 20/20 hindisght.

if only the club could make it's business decisions like that.

hell while we're at it, why didnt we offer the burgess boys more than souths way back when?

why didnt we lock up JT in 2004???

bloody management, cant get anything right.

no one on the forum was calling us to sign JAC for 300 thousand + before he'd played an NRL game, dont see why the tigers would do that

So we don't make strategic business decisions? It wasn't apparent to our coaching staff this player had qualities we needed in our NRL team and we should take the opportunity to secure him cheaply?

Did we have the Burgess brothers at our club for a year? I must have missed that fact.

If he's been offered $300-350k or anything like it, he'd be mad to knock it back because no way you can pay that kind of coin to a 20 something rookie winger however good he may ultimately prove to be

Out of interest, what is Nofoaluma on? On what has been offered by the two this year, who deserves the coin?

This year about even. On career to date, Nofa by a length of the Flemington straight.

i ask you again, was anyone clamouring for JAC to be resigned on 300,000 a year before hed played an NRL game?

if not, then the forum knows less than management (unsurprising)

for all we know the club DID try to sign him up for say 150-200k for several years but he said no because he wanted to prove himself and get his true worth.

in any case, say we did sign him up for 100k for 4 years. its pretty obvious that this year or next year he'd be 'asking for a release' to chase storm's big bucks anyway just like taupau did. it makes little difference

Nofoaluma's defence is diabolical and he lacks three or four yards of pace. His game has regressed and I question why he has been retained in the NRL team.

He'd just been signed to the club from Sharks 20s and you want the club to extend him with a new contract before a ball had been kicked?

Idiot

Cant believe all the heartache and the name calling at the club about this guy.

He is good…..so far. He has only just started. He has not even played 5 first grade games. He might be terribly injury prone or might go off the rails.

I think he is definitely exciting to watch and i hope he stays, but not at overs.

Some are bagging the club for paying huge amounts to unprovens like Moses and Brooks a few years ago, but you want to do the same thing again for this unproven guy. Seriously.

Take a deep breath. As they say, ' one swallow does not a summer make'

I think his total contract with the Storm is $300,000 over two years. The first $120,000 and the second $180,000 so this puts the matter into quite a difference perspective. Negates any suggestion his is getting overs

So your argument is that because supporters (not professional coaching staff) were not clamouring for his signature, the professional staff at the club should not be held accountable for what is appearing to be a major mistake.

Melbourne keep fueling the media talk to either force jac down there without looking like crims or strengthen their bargaining position with wests.

If it was done they would have announced it.

I have no inside knowledge. Just imo.

Guys, just think about it if JT thought the Tigers were no chance of keeping Addo Carr why would they drop Jordan Rankin who JT somehow rated him but opt to reward a rookie who already signed with another club…

And we all know Craig Bellamey wouldn't want anyone who doesn't want to be there..

Stay confident the Tigers Will Retain Him!! (Note: Optimisim, no facts)

Please, bombard the Wests Tigers with emails about how much we want him to stay at the Tigers.. Just go to our website and go contact us..

I did and I think I saw a couple of people on this forum said they did but guys SEND THEM IN!!!

And what, continous improvement within the club is not ongoing? That because we have him for one year we rest and wait for the club's who have set a higher bar in terms of performance on and off the field to come and take him? Funny way to run a business and questions need to be asked about our professional coaching staff!

And come on, be constructive!

Does anyone think the Storm would be crazy enough to pay big Buck for a rookie.

They got Koro for cheap as soon as his price went up he was let go.

Everyone getting in a tis over a winger…besides apart from various gossip and rumour sites I'm yet to see anything official that he has gone..they have changed from 3 yrs with the Storm back to 2 so that's encouraging Bellamy can work his wonders then Addo can come back in 2019 still only 22 as he said all he ever wanted to do as a kid is play for the WT...

Exactly what I said,
Now how can we get him to take Taylor on a three( or more ) year apprenticeship?

My take is that JAC has more than likely signed with Melbourne. There are too many announcements in the papers for it not to be true.

I think the club just got outsmarted by Melbourne. Melbourne saw a quality player as they did with Koro and jumped on it. We took too long to do anything.

Hopefully the club is doing everything possible to retain him here though and maybe we will be able to keep him.

Agree
I believe the tiger's thought they had time to work out a deal for him but the storm outsmarted us. Probably told him everything a young kid with big dreams wanted to hear and he jumped at it and is now regretting it. We just need to be smarter, a bit of communication with JAC to let him know we are working at putting a good deal together for him might have been enough to persuade him to hold off until we got our act together. Just hope something can be done to keep him at our club.

I addressed this point earlier

Im disappointed the club has been slack in tieing him up.
I believe that's someone else's dept other than the stubborn, short sighted coach

Round and round in circles we go…. Are you bored?

The funny thing for all the criticism of JT no one is or was saying that JAC was a standout in ISP. Why? Because he wasn't. Sure he scored a few tries and showed some pace but he wasn't dominating week in and week out like Koro was when he was playing State Cup.

There were no rave reviews or demands that he must be selected. Most who watched ISP said he still had a way to go before being ready for first grade and most thought that if he got a couple of games this year, that would a good outcome for the kid.

Now people are carrying on like the club held him back from 3 years. Some of these people are posters I ordinarily respect.

I JAC left us because he got a better offer, so be it. I have also seen a lot of young players come into firsts and look sensational. Other clubs then identify their weaknesses, and these kids never get seen again. Im not saying JAC will be like that but it is not certain yet whether he will have a long first grade career but people are carrying on like we might lose Andrew Johns reborn.

So why is it that Bellamy can see enough in JAC to offer him a modest contract with a view to filling the vacancy left by Koro's departure?

Why is it that an inside back was selected on the wing even though his weaknesses were apparent from his first game?

Because he could kick and then shine reasonably well like he has at the back in James' absence. I thought it was well spelt out to all and sundry at the start of the season.
