We are a danger to ourselves when we have cap space. We will give him 500k and Pascoe will try dress this up as a big win for the club. Why not just hold our money and try get an actual star.

Running out of time. We need to fill our roster and spend money to reach the minimum amount in the cap. If we can’t land a superstar, we have to go the next rung down. If we’re signing AJ, you just hope he’s not the only one.



That’s still a GREY area for me. What are the ramifications if they don’t spend the cap and is the fact they ( west’s ) have been active but unsuccessful in landing players is that taken into account? It’s not slave trading. If they don’t want to come the club can’t force them right?

Every club has to spend at least 90% of their allotted salary cap. I can't remember what the penalty is if you fail to do so. There was a story a few years back where Newcastle were under threat of a big fine for this reason.

Not the worst signing but slightly disappointing. He is a slight upgrade on Corey Thompson. Not as effective at kick returns and tackle busts, but he is more adept in structure, therefore will create more tries around him.

On a hypothetical scale, let's say Thompson is a 7/10. Johnston is maybe 7.3/10.

He is not the worst but only ahead of Darius Moylan and Gagai as far as i am concerned.Waste of money

Under normal circumstances it would be a solid signing. But ts a hell of a let down from almost having LM.

I dont see any evidence that we were ever a realistic option for LM.

I just thought of something. What if SG has been snooping round on Souths forum, found this scoop and is now trying to pass it off as his own. Nothing would surprise me atm.

If the rumour is true that we are getting JAC and Johnson, then you'd think Johnson is going to play fullback.

At fullback, I'm not keen...hell...I don't even rate him as a winger!


Why do you not rate him he as speed and does know how to finish I think he is a good player

He's poor defensively and he's really only a support fullback - he can't ball play and I don't see him break tackles...we already have one of those in Thompson.

Secondly, I'd imagine we'd be paying him around the $500k mark...maybe more? He's no better than anyone we already have and for that money is expensive for what he offers.

A lot of people saying we are helping Souths to sign LM, if he wants to go to Souths they will find a way someone one else will take there players.People need to move on from LM he is not coming was never coming

Everyone needs to get a grip Madge knows what he's doing whats the use of chasing LM if he wanted to be here he would be here now.There has been so much BS in regard to LM that it's smack of double standards he saying Souffs are good to the Indigenous players however to get to Souffs three of his Indigenous brothers have to be shafted go figure remember MADGE HAS A PLAN and if we can get players of 1st grade and SOO standard go for it we have spots to fill in our Cap and there's not to many options out there and if Souffs are contributing to their contracts happy days and also we are all keyboard warriors not RL Coaches
