I just thought of something. What if SG has been snooping round on Souths forum, found this scoop and is now trying to pass it off as his own. Nothing would surprise me atm.

I’ll give u the tip, never been on a Souths forum. Also Hartigan is denying it when I messaged him for confirmation. And when I say deny, he said no comment at the moment

If true - i'm over this team - I don't care that we may not have got LM - but to then help the pride of the league out so that they can fit him in is laughable. We are the laughing stock of the NRL. I'm glad I haven't forked out for a membership.

What are you talking about ? LM is going to Souths this year or next ! They want him this year . Johnston is a good footballer . Why not take advantage of the situation. He could be a great footy player . Who knows

This is the mentality that gets us to 9th every year. For a start you have no idea what LM is doing this year or next. Why make it easier for souths to snare him now - let them fight it out next year with most of the other clubs who will be cashed up. As for Johnston - he is a good footballer in a good side - no superstar and never will be - he will be coming to an ordinary football team. We will see how good he is then.

They do know though . It’s probably been discussed . So now everyone’s intentions are clear, it’s about maximising the Tigers return because we don’t get him either way
. Is Johnston a net gain ? Yep ! Does that now take our main rival for JAC off the table? Yep ! I don’t see the issue in signing an above average first grader who 2 years ago was the next big thing . And is 24 .

I disagree with you entirely - but hey we are both entitled to our opinions. I see no upside in AJ whatsoever. The JAC thing is entirely dependent on Bellamy letting him go first of all an d Bellamy isn't a lame little pussy like our administration. And if we don't get JAC for next year there will be a lot more money around in 2021 from other clubs. Also when the LM saga started and others dropped out we were the only one standing with a pot of gold and a number 1 jersey just for him. **We had no rivals then so why would having no rivals for JAC be any different.**

I guess the difference is that unlike Mitchell, JAC actually wants to come here.

It will leak from AJ camp first. Just watch

Doueihis salary not high enough to help with Souths cap relief? Or we would rather Johnston? Thought Doueihi played good enough to not sit in CC if Mitchell's going there.

I for one would of loved to have LM join us but clearly he is not interested so we need to do the right thing by the club, Players and fans and move on.
As we have all discussed there is not much out there in regards to quality players so IF we end up with AJ it is an improvement on our current backs.
He brings speed, great support play, can find the line and only 24 years old.. He has also played for Madge and knows what he expects so if he WANTS to be here I for one would be happy to give him a shot. Better to have a player thats wants to be here then not.
We all need to remember we are all feeling let down because we miss out on LM but this kid is young and will help us either at FB or wing.

That's cool. I just think a gain is a gain . It's size is the only difference (LM to AJ). JAC was a huge tigers fan and only left because of how crap things were back then . This is my opinion. I actually think out best signing including LM is going to be this parra forward. We've proved this year that even average backs can get you points. A gun pack and you've got things cooking .

Hate to say it, but that had me laughing out loud 🙂

Argh, it could be worse fellas.

All three won't have taken up all our cap. It is not going to make us a semi final team though.

Does he - where has he actually said that recently. I'm asking because I haven't seen him quoted as saying that anywhere.

AJ would not be my 1st preference but he is still a good signing and I am happy with this signing
At least he isn't kicking stones like LM
He will do a good job for us and create more competition for spots which can only be a good thing
LM is a risk for anyone at the moment
I think the Media attention and Social media gets to Latrell
Why do the Roosters really want Latrell gone ?
It's not the Money
Roosters wouldn't let Latrell go unless he was high maintenance as he certainly appears to be that
Or he has some other issues that are just to difficult to deal with
Sure he can be a great player on the day the Roosters know that
But they still want him gone
I will call it now but I think we avoided a bullet with LM
Give me AJ and Jac and still money to spend
Be interesting to see just how the season plays out

Calling it now ! JAC to tigers Gagai to storm , LM to Souths Arrow to Souths and AJ to tigers. No inside Goss . Just makes the most sense , and Gagai under Smith would work .

Have to agree about the Roosters and Latrell. They never let anyone go that they want to keep. There must be something apart from money involved.

What’s he going to do then ? Can’t play fullback with latrell there, can’t play in the halves with walker resigned. He’s not a winger. So where does that leave him ?

We may not have a semi final team...but we do have a bloody good coach who can turn it into one....

Not the worst signing but slightly disappointing. He is a slight upgrade on Corey Thompson. Not as effective at kick returns and tackle busts, but he is more adept in structure, therefore will create more tries around him.

On a hypothetical scale, let's say Thompson is a 7/10. Johnston is maybe 7.3/10.
