Awesome! Helping Souths make room for LM...

This is such a ridiculous point - if we didn't sign him someone else would sign someone from Souths to make room for Latrell. Us not signing someone won't mean Latrell magically decides to come to the Tigers.

Read again. Pretty sure I didn’t state us signing AJ means we lose out on LM. Could care less if we got him or not, but helping Souths get him? Stuff that, they want him, why should we get the off cuts that makes it happen for them.

It doesen't help Souths get him - they will get him either way therefore it is of no help

I would say the club know LM has no interest in playing for us

Still I'm disappointed if this is true

Even if we are not getting LM I don't really want AJ here

JAC would be a great buy though

Correct, It's my understanding that they can fit Arrow and Mitchell in their cap if Latrell takes a pay cut for his first season which it sounds like he could be open too.

Alex will free up closer to the mark of Mitchell's salary demands.

I was told it was processed over the weekend for three seasons and we could hear something very soon.

AJ is an extremely solid player, I've watched him for a number of seasons and he is a good Fullback, not the best but he is fairly dependable and it will just depend on the structures in place on how he is utilised.

Luke Brooks and Alex Johnston will be a masterful combination, AJ's strength is his following through on kicks and he reads the game really well in that facet and also defence.

He may not be a traditional game-breaker like Latrell is or Tedesco is but he closer to a peak Darius Boyd whom in his time was a pretty handy player and the Kangaroos Incumbent when Slater retired from rep footy or was injured (can't remember which one)

Johnston has a lot more speed than Darius ever did in the focal point of his career so he is still a top of the line finisher on either wing, I feel he is stronger on the left wing but he can play either side fine.

Alex debuted very young at Souths, 18 or maybe just clocked over to 19 and is still only 24 years of age so he still has five or six seasons to develop at the back in terms of a projected peak timeline.

I am sure the club will set some kind of personal KPI's to ensure improvement is seen and he is getting better and better to ensure Tigers have the right man at the back, As i said if he doesn't he is a mighty fine left winger.

It doesn’t seem like to jet science does it . LM not coming here has nothing to do with AJ coming here . Outside of AJ being the no2 choice . LM is going to Souths . Whether that be now or tomorrow .

Agree boonboon . Negativity will produce nothing but losses. Nothing wrong with a little tribalism but not when it comes to biblical sacrifices.

I’m as cynical and negative as pretty much anyone on here but the fact is that AJ is an upgrade on what we have. If by some miracle we can also convince JAC to come here, then for the first time in ages we have a backline with pace.

I still don't rate him, but if he comes, I'll support him.

Agreed.

Only a combination of AJ and JAC will make up for the disappointment of the whole LM rubbish for mine.

Not blaming the club either, player managers and the NRL are the issue.

I don't have any mail at all on Josh Addo-Carr but my gut feeling says he'll be a Tiger - Hope I am right in terms of the Tigers part of me which is still growing.

If Souffs get rid of both Johnston and Gagi .. i reckon they will remarkably have room to sign both Mitchell and Addo-Carr .. !!

Good to see Pascoe and Co are still bin diving outside other clubs footy offices.. help Parra out / help Souths out good on you fellas how long has it been since making finals ?

I personally think AJ is great addition
Finally a player with pace
Not a gamebreaker but a huge upgrade on what we have 🔥

I admit AJ knows how to hit a hole and with pace far better than our wide running second rowers. At the same time I’m the kinda guy who would rather create my own wealth than win lotto. I like what Madge is doing.

Don't know how anyone will satisfy Melbourne's "like for like" demand for 2020, unless Storm are open to trading Gagai for Fox.

But I understand Gagai is on about double what Fox is, so I don't know how the maths would work out.

Gagai is the Greg Eastwood situation repeated. If he's happy to keep playing where he is, there's no particular reason for him to move, esp. out of Sydney. He's just turned 29 and his standing has fallen significantly due to indifferent club form, so I don't see who is going to pick up his ~$700K contract or extend it until he retires.

So Another 48hrs...which by the way was better than the original

I wonder who Souths would have been negotiating with for LM seeing he doesn't have a manager at the moment?

The league also doesn't allow back ended deals. he can't sign on 400k the first year and 800-1 mil a year after that. Mitchell will need to sign for at least 750k. That's reasonable.

Johnston on 400k or less is fine.

LM is now on his 3rd manager .. his new manager is Matt Rose (gorgeous George Rose's brother) the same manager who looks after Cody Walker and Jack Weighton.
