Absolute tragic , I'm speechless . Give your loved ones a cuddle and tell them you love them , you just don't know if maybe tomorrow the easy things in life (like cuddles) will be impossible to do .

As someone said above, McLean needs to be looked after too. You never just quite know what kind of impact this could have on him knowing he was the guy who put McKinnon in a wheelchair. Last thing we want is another Mosese Fotuaika.
100% still needs 8-10 weeks though. so he can feel much better being punished other than feeling that he got away from it kinda thing. May also ruin his life altogether as well. It's a hard one hey stoner .

It may well be as simple as a 'no lifting' edict and limiting tacklers to a total of two. There's nothing appealing about three defenders manhandling one man in possession. It does not represent a contest, it's the RL version of assault
This is for another thread…not this one

I hope we never see another incident like that again.

The coaches are a source of a lot of these problems, as is the rules interpretations and refereeing. Both of those are what is primarily responsible for this.
Many people observed that the new Storm tactic with the ruck changes was to get numbers in the tackle, hold the ball carrier up and spin them around 180\. What if what happened was a poorly executed defensive technique being taught by the Storm?
And there is also the rumoured advice to players to dive head first to win a penalty, with I believe Fifita coming out and saying something along those lines. I don't think McKinnon was doing that, he was doing a reflex action whilst been disorientated in the tackle. But all the same if the coaches are teaching that, then it has to stop in case it does lead to injury..
Then we have spineless refereeing who nitpick for minor and entirely subjective incidents in the ruck to blow their whistle on, whilst seemingly ignoring countless acts of dangerous and foul play. And of course a refereeing establishment who submitted to lobbyist coaches to allow wrestling to enter the game..
A large part of that $50 million saved up will and should go to McKinnon and his family. If he is a complete quadriplegic then that figure should easily reach $20m.
Also investigate Bellamy, and get all coaches to come together on all levels within the NRL to air their potentially dangerous coaching practices so that they can be eliminated..
I also think those involved in the tackle shouldn't play NRL again, but should get as much help and aid as possible to establish lives and careers outside football. No one wants to see a double tragedy.
