Alex Seyfarth #232

Looks to be stronger with and without the ball than he was at the start of the season and his work rate is impressive.
His ball playing adds a nice dimension to our attack as well.

I think you’re right. I originally had him pegged as Lovett 2.0.

Certainly has lots of upside. Type of forward who is made for the today’s game. Athletic and can play long minutes. Stings in defence and has a good offload. Does the 1 percenters as well with effort plays. Good long term signing.

He is the ideal front rower/13 under the current rules.

Mobile, footwork at the line and a handy pass. Great to see.

He is hitting really hard in defence, his opening stint was very strong.

You just took the words right of my mouth. I was just about to compare him to Lovett in his first couple of games haha. That’s where he looked to be heading. He somehow managed to eek out a one year extension last year, and has definitely made the most of that opportunity.

He's impressed me. I was critical of him last year and he didn't show much early on in firsts this year, but his defence has been top notch and the introduction of a ball playing game has been a welcome development. While he'll never have the physical attributes to be a truly top line lock, I'm starting to feel pretty confident he can be a positive contributor in our side for a long time.

Do we need to apologise to him agaIn? In all seriousness he was good again tonight. Building a solid resume as a hard worker and strong defender.

Alex is a weapon and still has so much potential. He still looks like a wide eyed puppy out there. Once he starts looking in the mirror in the morning and seeing an NRL enforcer in the reflection he will be a destroyer. Still has growing to do as well. He has a hell of a tank, the right spirit and has some skills in his game as well. Will be a 200 game first grader this one.

Amone

Mikaele is a bit injured. I would consider just resting him. I thought Amone looked pretty good when he came on and I'd like to see what he looks like with a bit more game time and stringing a few games back to back.

That said Parramatta have the best middles in the NRL so we might need to go big boy bench again.

He has a bit of thug in him. He smashed someone lying on the ground when he didn't need to. Gave a penalty away, but that sort of stuff makes opposition players second-guess themselves if they know he's around.

If we don't give him a contract we might as well ask Ivan the destroyer if he wants one. Make it happen hartigan/madge

Can't believe I wrote him off just a few weeks ago, really never saw much upside in him.

Biggest surprise of the season.

Really enjoying watching him now. We were clearly a better side with him on the field last night IMO.

I remember a few weeks ago, The Pom said that the club were trying to re-sign him and that Madge was a big fan. I was like “really? 🤦‍♂️“

I don’t blame you. He had Kyle Lovet/Jack Buchanan/Brendan Santi vibes. The difference is that those other 3 didn’t improve at all in 50 games (or whatever they played) while Seyfarth has added several elements to his game and hits hard. Great to see and hard not to like a bloke like him who works so hard.
