Alex Seyfarth #232

Watching this young man develop has been a good reminder for me. They need time! He has improved to look comfortable every time he has stepped up.

This is a lesson you have to apply to Talau, Kepaoa, the Simpkin/s, Tuilagi etc...

For every Utoikamanu there are 10 other first graders who will improve if nurtured. Our issue is our poor recruitment of established players, meaning these young players are all exposed at once. We will be better for it in 2 years (if we can hang on that long haha)

I thought we screwed up big when we let McIntyre go and signed Seyfarth instead. Glad to say I was wrong. I haven't seen the doco but from on-field behaviour, I feel Seyfarth has been one of the only people in the team who actually cares.

Including Laurie, Doueihi, Stefano, Seyfarth

Very average young player

Are you @Imback ?

Seyfarth is a good prospect.
Big future for him.

No he isn’t.

This kid could be anything, he is yet to grow into his body and a couple of games this year he played with some passion and a get square mentality , Connor Watson, against the Knights found out.
He is young and will improve a lot more, better judges then me obviously think so

My reaction when first seeing and reading this thread 🙌🙌🙌

I feel that we are weeding out the weak willed.

BJ will be gone, Mbye gone, Packer gone, Mikaele up in the air.

There's a couple more that could probably go after that but those guys are a good start. Resigning Seyfarth is a good move. Good attitude and likes to get out there and use his shoulders.

Yeah it definitely has that sort of feel about it doesn't it. Majority of the team that'll be left after this season ends seem to be blokes that Madge has either given them their 1st Grade debuts or legit team first sort of blokes.

I feel Hastings will be the sort of bloke who buys into Madge's philosophy and embrace it. From what I've seen of him in UK he's a massive talker, super passionate and gives it 110%. Bit like a Josh Reynolds sort of character but with far more skill and natural ability.

Hastings ✅
Gildart ❌

Hastings will be very good for us,not only has he matured,he always had the capability to be an NRL player, his immaturity cost him that, however he has a golden chance now to prove his ability in the big arena....and I hope he kills it..
On Gildart,he obviously has something that others dont,Im willing to bet once he is over his injuries he and Hastings will be a big asset to our club,if not no big loss because we tried to at least instill some leadership and toughness into our team....

Alex has devoted himself to being a top line NRL player, under Madges guidance he has shown very good improvement,he loves the club, jersey and team,Madge has helped him live that dream others could only hope for at his age...

Brah, I'm so excited to see what Jacko does for us.
Very high expectations for him.

Seems like he could be ANYTHING and really take us to another level. Think he's got something to prove and is going to come out swinging, so to speak, with a chip on his shoulder. Hopefully translates to success.

Gildart though, unsure.
Always hope the players succeed and he is very likeable as a person but low expectations in comparison to Hastings.
Happy to proved wrong.

Always back a local junior being part of our squad, so more than happy to see Alex retained.

The wording from the club was he is the player other players want to play with.

A well deserved new deal. He has shown large improvement over the last 12mths.

He has a great attitude and to be honest we need more like him.It was always a trait inbuilt into Balmain and Magpies sides "Give the other mob nothing but pain" and Alex has that attitude
