Alex Seyfarth #232

Seyfarth can be upgraded...

Wayne Bennett said "as long as you are improving your squad, you are going forward".

Simple strategy, but if every trade is an upgrade you end up like Brisbane...

Yes Seyfarth can play and I think of him as a Fringe grader... Let him push himself in reggies then push back to a bench position. No more pushing in 2023 then trade him away.

Ofcourse if Brown or another true first grader can come in his place. Great. No chance we could trade him for Angus C or Bateman.

What I was hoping is that we could get Andrew Fifita or Aaron Woods for cheap. I know Fifita has retired but hey so has James Tamou and Tamou is playing for the Cows. Thinking if not min 120k, then maybe sign them outside the top 30 like Will Smith. .... Just unlike Will Smith they are not upgrading Winger but adding fire and grit to the reserve forward pack.

its time for Alex to sink or swim, with the new coaching structure i think the lad will improve, trade him to manly, lets get Kelma back

“we shouldn't go after Angus Critchon because we already had Seyfart.” ??
That is crazy talk. He is the kind of player you cut for Angus.
How ya going anyway Mrs Lodge? Merry Christmas.

You won't get any disagreement from me on that. Legend has it that most of the forum members who had to read that crap suffered from detached retinas as a result of major eye rolling at the moron who posted that.

Not bad at all, just hiding the grog so Matty doesn't go all 'New York' on Uncle Nick and he ends up taking away our brown paper bags. Merry Christmas to you too.

Kelma was so lazy in defence. Either that or his fitness was terrible. Missed so many tackles and caused so many defensive issues last season. Manly can have him.
I looked up his world cup stats: https://www.nrl.com/players/rugby-league-world-cup/samoa/kelma-tuilagi/

It's hilarious as Kelma was on for 56 minutes vs England. Loss 60-6.

You then see him drop to the "player of last resort" by the end of the series. Clearly he can get some meters from hit ups... and nothing else.

There’s usually a reason why storm let them go. There were a few games he was terrible in and got rewarded with another first grade selection.

Not all players can be stars and the salary cap doesn't allow a squad of 30 stars. Players on more modest contracts offer good value. This is Seyfarth's niche and anyone doubting his commitment or ability should re-watch the Brisbane game. 50 tackles, provided the final pass for a try and unloaded a number of times. There is a lot of upside to his game and under the new coaching staff, especially Dave Furner, I expect his game to improve. Time for some of you to put the Wiltshire away.

Did you ever watch him in the lower grades. He killed them. He would get smashed there as well. He gets smashed but hits it up on the next hit just as hard.
That's just it Earl, did well in lower grades.
I, like you Earl, agree he is dedicated for sure but I just dont think us pinning our hopes on him is going to work.
I said Gildart was a great signing too so take these comments with caution ha ha.

I hope so I like him.

Classic paws. You pick the one game he actually contributed to and talk about for months while ignoring the other 30 games in which he was garbage and contributed nothing. You did the same thing with Liddle where you went on for months about a chase down while ignoring the rest of the garbage he produced.

Fact is you’re incapable of admitting you’re wrong and seem to like living under the delusional belief that every one of our juniors are stars in the making. Wake up

Who from our flegg team is playing NRL currently? Winning that trophy means nothing in the context of things.
Errr? Ok you’ve got a point Madge. The words I don’t want to hear from Benji when Sheens and Robbie jump off the bus...we need a 3 year plan. 😫

You have to admit though, he played that game under the influence of what appeared to be demonic possession? If we all played like that every week, we win a few games.
