I know people like to bash Seyfarth for his discipline but he improved markedly over the 2025 season. His average minute per penalty was over 133 and he’s been sin binned 3 times in 91 games (average of 1 per 30 games aka 1.25 seasons) only once last year.
In 2024 he was getting a penalty every 87 minutes and got sin binned twice.
Terrell May had 11 penalties and 14 Ruck infringements which is also the equal most in the competition.Obviously he did play like 400 more minutes but still it’s pretty poor.
I understand criticism of Seyfarth but it should be more directed towards the fact his defence went substantially downhill last season.
Brother that did not “cost” us the game at all. As soon as we went down 26-24 we played horrendously for the last 10 minutes and I also recall Seyfarth saving a try (will need to be checked) at one point during that game and also a try assist when he got a line break so I’m not sure how conceding 2/26 points and contributing to 4/24 points exactly counts as “costing us the game”
How about some of the average defence leading to the Warriors tries by numerous members of the team (Pole, Hunt, Bula, Luai) but not Seyfarth? Or with 40 seconds to go, nobody being at dummyhalf to give us the chance of winning the game?
Additionally, during the finals series contact like that was called “incidental” as he’s essentially fallen into the shoulder.
So it took him 91 games to not be a total moron on the field with his discipline? Congrats, you must be so proud that it took your boy only 5 seasons and three coaches for him to show the slightest of improvements.
You really want to bring up Terrell May as a comparison? The same Terrell May who also gets through a mountain of work in attack and defense in addition to playing more minutes so fatigue likely plays a role there. What’s Seyfarths excuse considering he does nothing in attack which every standard metric proves. His per game stats for M, PCM, TB, and line breaks are a joke. He broke 100m once in 21 games while playing around 70 minutes a game. Go ahead and spin your way out of that one.
His only redeeming qualities are his tackle efficiency and tackle count even though he nearly always loses the contact in defense and gets driven back or folded like a deck chair.
Mate, the score in the Warriors game was 24 all with 10 to go, and he gave away a soft penalty which gave them the lead. You can try and spin that however you want but it wasn’t Hunt, Bula, Pole or Luai that did that. It was your boy,
Incredibly enough, it wasn’t even his biggest brain fade of the season. How about the Bulldogs game where he gave away a penalty and then got himself binned when we were on top? But I suppose that wasn't his fault either though.
Stop defending mediocrity and putting your personal favourites over what’s best for the team. Only at the Wests Tigers could we have fans wanting Alex [This word has been automatically removed]ing Seyfarth in the 17. Unbelievable.
