Alex Twal #206

In 2027, the projected salary cap is $11.7 million.

On average, that equates to $390,000 per player.

Twal has just resigned for an estimated $400,000 per year.

So this new contract will be a smidge above an average value contract across the Top 30.

This is unequivocally a 'Rowdy-type' deal and will spread next year's salary out a little too. This will bring his value back in line with a consistent, number 3 or 4, bench prop.

really? he just got a front rower coming into his best years to take a $125k a year paycut. nothing mythical about that.
Every club has context around their roster. We're no different and there's a novel to explain the past and present situation.

Fulton is simply working within the contextual constraints on this club as of this moment. The fact that his moves are all generally low-key and underwhelming thus far for the most part (bar the Fainu's and the extensions of Bula and Api) is a good thing in my opinion.

He is doing the opposite of Ivan, who let the funds burn a hole in his pocket and felt he needed to buy the club out of strife.

I'm all in on the opposite approach this time around.
