All good at the club says Chairman

The chairman is beyond delusional and it shows how unprofessional and accepting of failure we are as a club. The lack of success is not a perception, it’s a fact. We haven’t made the finals in over ten years now. I wonder if Lee can actually pinpoint any areas of success we’ve had as he seemingly dismissed the criticism as rhetoric.

I’ve experienced many organisational reviews throughout my career and they can only be successful and meaningful if you give the reviewer adequate scope to identify issues and develop recommendations. There has to be a genuine desire to improve as an organisation. By the sounds of it, it will be a tick a box exercise designed to gloss over the issues at the club and deflect blame and accountability. These so called leaders are destroying the club.

I guess my concern is seeing the club fold or move and if we can’t be successful I fear that is a real possibility. I think the supporter base and membership have to demand significant change at this point and potentially put forward a statement of concern document to apply pressure to club hierarchy. I understand my last suggestion is probably borne out of emotion though and is likely idealistic.

Originally I though this bloke would be a good choice as Chairman. But, everything I've seen and heard since he came on board, screams that he is out of his depth in this role. It's weird because his credentials in business as head of Brydens would suggest he'd be good in the role.

I don't think that is the case. I think we need his support. He is also to me a funny guy. He seems to like the attention.

What's the point of having a review, if the chair believes its all good. Hopefully other sponsors and Wests put there foot down and let the review run its coarse make a decision then.

You’re mad
Buy a slab instead

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic. I think the best idea is buy a slab and drink it in one setting. It'd hurt less than supporting the Tigers.

How is this going to help. We need all the 3rd party payments/brown paper bags we can get.

The club has got the core group to grow this club says the Chairman! Pascoe / Maguire/Hartigan are all safe and will be at the club next season this is regardless of what any REVIEW DETERMINES!!!
No changes the club can stick there MEMBERSHIPS after 11 seasons of failure this is all the clubs got for its stake holders ?????? the place is a joke !

Pascoe / Maguire/Hartigan may all be safe but membership numbers may take a hit if the anger and disappointment shown by @Snake is commonly held by current members.

The club is in a bit of a mess at the moment with regards to recruitment and on field performances and I can understand people walking away disgusted after being constantly promised so much only to be dished up the same garbage year after year.

While I appreciate the Chairman's financial commitment and have no doubt about his passion for this club, I can understand people being upset by various comments made by him and his involvement in various contract negotiations that have either failed or have been perceived to be much too generous or unwarranted at the time.

they will lose 4 memberships from me and my family.

Next year is going to be exactly the same. We need a crop of juniors like Benji and Robbie coming through. I have no idea how you get those players.

I’ll be renewing my membership. I’m not walking away when the club needs me most. We are right to question our current strategies but walking away solves nothing imo.

Non-football people still seem to be getting involved in football matters.

Hopefully Sheens is the barrier required to mitigate this.

“We haven’t challenged for a premiership really since 2005. That is the reality.

2010 finished 3rd, knocked out in a prelim final, lost to the winners by 1 point
2011finished 4th, knocked out in the semi finals

Pretty sure that was challenging for a premiership

He doente even know the history and gives quotes to the media that fuel the hysteria - he needs a muzzle and a minder and to stay out of the media

We need the board sacked

Chairman sacked

CEO sacked

20 players let go.

And then we can start the rebuild. We're only 6 months in to our rebuild, even though we've been rebuilding for 10 years now.

Sadly, our chairman is also our primary sponsor

We can’t sign any decent players now and you want us to sign 20 new players?

Not sure why the chairman is speaking on which players will stay or be let go.

I think it’s fair. His only commenting on the fact they have a contract. You don’t want him giving clubs a leg up by indicating that they will be available if they enquire. If any of our players or player managers wanted to negotiate their way out of the contract that should be at the cost of the other club or in the case of Woods needing a new home out of the Dogs a sacrifice to the player themselves.

He could just say "The football department manage the roster and I won't comment on player movements". He really digs himself into a hole with comments like this.

The club has again shot themselves in the foot by making Lee chairman. He's the major sponsor so it's now very difficult to oust him as chairman without risking losing Brydens as a sponsor.

The way we're going it would take us 10 seasons to replenish the 20 players we lost.
