St George and Melbourne manage to hold onto to “unhappy” players without it being front page news.

Aloiai made it front page through his own airing of his dissatisfaction.

Imo his time at the Club is over. There is no coming back from what he is reported to have said yesterday.

What happens if Talau does that next year? It will prove throwing a public tantrum gets your release.

Following the pattern it’s usually one of our improved players that we’re not overpaying.

IMO when he sobers up he can turn up to training with his tail between his legs and face his teammates.
And if he plays half-heartedly for half the season how is that any different to his standard form - we wouldn’t even notice.

He might be average, but there's something seriously wrong at this club, too many players have wanted out, to many quality players are saying no to our big offers...my mail it's Maguire, he's not seen as a coach players want to play for, and that's from a current first grade mate of mine, but the love for Maguire will continue on this forum, this club has been on a downhill spiral, for years....has accelerated under Maguire

So J Rey doesn't want to play for Madge ..he can leave ..and I thank him for his contribution..

The problem is not the coach even if it is Maguire..it's the self entitled attitude of some of these blokes who think they are bigger than the Club..

They are happy to take the cash tho..

It's all about money. Matterson has his best season and can get more money so he agitates for a release. Aloiai doing the same thing. They have career best seasons and decide to cash in.

The bloke has stuck with us through injuries, drama, multiple coaches and has put up with a lot.

We don't know for sure that he even said that or exactly what has happened. We can only speculate.

What we do know is that we have a bonehead Chair that seems to be quoting the 1985 edition of Negotiating for Dummies.

The irony is you draw conclusions about our Board/ CEO and chair and yet you have no evidence either. A tad hypocritical methinks.

The Chair's the only one playing this out in public.

The words "I'll never play for the Tigers again." must have come out of my nether ring then.

I remember when super league made Steve Edmed a million dollar man. I didn’t bemoan him, I thought good luck to the guy! I actually laughed...he wasn’t that good!
Same thing here. Except that JA is acting like an entitled prick.

Good. We don’t need to be vindictive or get caught up in a slanging match. Club handling it well. There should be nothing more said publicly now. The contract will have to be honoured just as we have to honour the contracts of Reynolds and Packer.

Tbh this is all really sad and not what we really need atm. I thought Josh played really good this year and on the back of that was chasing an upgrade which wa probably justified.
The dissapointing thing about this is Josh has actually damaged his brand due to is poor choices and damaged the clubs brand by those choices.
Nobody really wins even though the club needed to make this stand.
I hope he can do what he needs to too repair the situation or it will be a talking point for a while.

In saying that no player is bigger then a club. And I think he will rue this significantly
