Aloiai

Screw him - i know he will be toxic at the club but I rather give a firm message, keep him in reserves all year. I feel its more a battle for future - if we bow down, why wont managers keep saying its a easy way to get out in future? Gotta make a stand here, even if it damages 2021 - lets face it its not that grand looking anyway hah! I'll support the club entirely if they keep him in reserves.

Aloiai is not worth the angst. Let cool heads prevail get him out of the Club and have Manly provide the player we want in return.

If we do that, it will happen again next year with someone else like it did Matterson and Ivan before that.

St George and Melbourne manage to hold onto to “unhappy” players without it being front page news.

Aloiai made it front page through his own airing of his dissatisfaction.

Imo his time at the Club is over. There is no coming back from what he is reported to have said yesterday.

What happens if Talau does that next year? It will prove throwing a public tantrum gets your release.

Following the pattern it’s usually one of our improved players that we’re not overpaying.

I'd agree with you if Aloiai hadn't already given permission for his mate to "selectively leak private and confidential conversations" on this very forum. You gets what's coming, chump.

He also put it on his Instagram account

I'd even prefer if we were the bigger man and chose him in firsts if he shows he's committed.

Well yeah that too. But don't want to let this exit strategy work, at all costs. Fear it will be on going whenever our other players raise a level in skill

Lee saying Josh won't be going anywhere unless the tigers get something favourable in return.

Very disappointed in his social media post.

Smith will be doing a ring around to his fellow player managers to see how many other of their clients are unhappy. That happiness can be had at WTs with a bright new shiny contract (and commission).

From his own client list, I'd take koala from Souffs https://www.sportsplayer.com.au/players

He does look unhappy in that photo. We could put a smile on his face.

Michael Chammas put a public poll on twitter in light of his request for immediate release, what do fans think he's worth. Currently its at
300-400k - 54 %
400-500 - 37%
500-600 6%
600-700 2%

The only props I’d pay 600-700k for are Papali, Haas, Paulo or JWH..

Taukeiaho would be worth that imo. Great goal kicker too.

I’m not sure who this guy thinks he is. He isn’t exactly Shane Webcke or Glenn Lazarus, he’s not even Aaron Woods. I think he’s had some bad advice and a few moments of madness.
IMO when he sobers up he can turn up to training with his tail between his legs and face his teammates.
And if he plays half-heartedly for half the season how is that any different to his standard form - we wouldn’t even notice.

Silly Manly think that he's worth $700k, LOL.

Average footballer, no great loss.
Probably doing us a favour

He might be average, but there's something seriously wrong at this club, too many players have wanted out, to many quality players are saying no to our big offers...my mail it's Maguire, he's not seen as a coach players want to play for, and that's from a current first grade mate of mine, but the love for Maguire will continue on this forum, this club has been on a downhill spiral, for years....has accelerated under Maguire

So J Rey doesn't want to play for Madge ..he can leave ..and I thank him for his contribution..

The problem is not the coach even if it is Maguire..it's the self entitled attitude of some of these blokes who think they are bigger than the Club..

They are happy to take the cash tho..

It's all about money. Matterson has his best season and can get more money so he agitates for a release. Aloiai doing the same thing. They have career best seasons and decide to cash in.

The bloke has stuck with us through injuries, drama, multiple coaches and has put up with a lot.

We don't know for sure that he even said that or exactly what has happened. We can only speculate.

What we do know is that we have a bonehead Chair that seems to be quoting the 1985 edition of Negotiating for Dummies.

The irony is you draw conclusions about our Board/ CEO and chair and yet you have no evidence either. A tad hypocritical methinks.

The Chair's the only one playing this out in public.

The words "I'll never play for the Tigers again." must have come out of my nether ring then.

Did he phone up a radio station or a journo and say this?

No.

I don't know about you, but most normal people would ropeable if their bosses started selectively leaking private and confidential conversations about our job to the media.

To top it off, we have our Chair, who is the head of a law firm, shooting his mouth off and publicly proposing breaking a number of workplace laws and maybe even facing a libel case.

It should come as absolutely no surprise that we've turned into the club that nobody wants to join or, now, even stay at.

Is that you again Buzz, or Crawley? Trolling at its best

I remember when super league made Steve Edmed a million dollar man. I didn’t bemoan him, I thought good luck to the guy! I actually laughed...he wasn’t that good!
Same thing here. Except that JA is acting like an entitled prick.
We will have the last laugh.

The club needs to be careful now. Who knows what impact the events will have on Josh's mental health now this has all come out. Time for Josh to man up and do what he is paid to do play footy. If he wants to exit to Manly 2022 all good.
Maybe have a chat to Jai Arrow it can be done. And find some new friends that advise him better.

UPDATE: Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe has cancelled today’s meeting with Josh Aloiai’s manager.

Club has told Tyran Smith there is nothing to talk about and they expect Josh at training on November 30. Tigers not backing down

Note: UP THE MIGHTY TIGERS, I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again today, the way we’ve handled this once you read through all the facts is awesome.

I would hope they send through a breach for misconduct as well, perhaps calling another meeting to issue him with a fine for publicly bringing the club into disrepute.

Good. We don’t need to be vindictive or get caught up in a slanging match. Club handling it well. There should be nothing more said publicly now. The contract will have to be honoured just as we have to honour the contracts of Reynolds and Packer.

Tbh this is all really sad and not what we really need atm. I thought Josh played really good this year and on the back of that was chasing an upgrade which wa probably justified.
The dissapointing thing about this is Josh has actually damaged his brand due to is poor choices and damaged the clubs brand by those choices.
Nobody really wins even though the club needed to make this stand.
I hope he can do what he needs to too repair the situation or it will be a talking point for a while.

In saying that no player is bigger then a club. And I think he will rue this significantly
