Some people need to understand, that even though we are fans and are fanatical, there is no reason what so ever for the club to share any of its financial dealings with us at all. It’s no ones business but the clubs and the individuals involved.

If you want input or information, become a member of the leagues club and run for a board seat. Or apply for the CEO job next time it comes up.

I agree, but when you have blokes like kempy who runs the locker room on Facebook (biggest rl page for content) making claims and saying stuff like “if you knew what actually went down and not what the higher ups want you to believe”. It paints the tigers in a very bad light because he has a huge following

Apparently he “knows” what actually happened and the tigers and manly offers were about the same, according to him (once again no idea how he knows)

I love the guys content but according to him the players can do no wrong, and he will defend them to day dot

Who cares what nobodies on FB have to say,...it’s a cess pool constantly spewing crap.....

Will most likely get published in the news paper, they feed off social media. That’s where I’m trying to get at

True. Not a shot at you mate, just hate social media. But if you took that away how would our exemplary journalists get their info......?‍♂️

Only social media I use is this site and a couple of other forums.

This is it for me...... I don’t consider this social media...is it?

Yes lol

Fair enough.
Sometimes I feel it’s more anti-social media.....?‍♂️

Isn't all social media? lol

Can comfortably hate Josh and his bizarre views now.

But man, Manly have made some good signings to be fair. They should really improve next season.

One less Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon supporter at the club 🤷‍♂️

He's not, but hes a very solid player who could potentially get better. He was one of the hardest runners in our team.

Just cause he acted like a douche and is no longer with us, lets not pretend he isn't a good player.

Don’t get me wrong, would’ve loved to have kept him

But if manly are expecting him to bully forward packs and fill AFBs void they’re in for a rude shock

Nope, not even close. I'm more than happy with how its turned out for us.

But they have him for that much while fitting in a very decent team around him. They will be one of the big improvers IMO.

“As part of the release, Wests Tigers have also agreed to an undisclosed commercial settlement with Josh’s new club.“

They got something from manly, no idea what.

I doubt if we will ever know.

I previously stated as part of a previous post,

"As some others have said, if we do get something of significant value from Manly and it is not put out in the public for all to see, then it is a pretty bad look for us and our tough talking leaders".

The only conclusion I can draw from the current situation is that the compensation that we received from Manly was of such an insignificant amount that Wests Tigers management are too embarrassed to let us know and will no doubt use our chairman's legal expertise to claim that it is "Commercial in Confidence" or some similar cop out.

This comment drew a fair few down votes, as a lot of people don't agree with it. Personally I upvoted it. I upvoted it, not because I agree with it, though the same thought did cross my mind. I upvoted it because the person had the conviction to post something they thought. And even though it isn't popular, I want to encourage people to post what they think.

I don't know what criteria people use for down-voting, and that's up to them to do so however they choose. Personally (from my recollection) I generally only like using down-voting when I read someone having a dig at someone else. And I don't mean the playful state of origin digging, but what I think is a harsh dig.

I would also like to say, that this view here that so many people don't like, will most definitely be held by some non-WT supporters out there, fingers crossed hopefully not the majority. Fingers crossed not by too many in the media.

I agree with this post, I don't agree with Hank's thoughts on this issue at all and have been back and forth with him all day but I don't believe in down voting a post you disagree with.

Reality is Josh is undersized for the position. He could give you a great game, but never follow it up.

His main (good) traits were his heart and courage.

Those things are now debatable.

He leaves with very little credibility left, but when you factor in his 'views' on life he likely won't care what any of us think.

Bottom line is he was the pack leader for a year and bolted as soon as he could. I.e. not a leader.

Good riddance

Manly appear to be creating 2 classes of player. “Well paid” and “not so well paid.”

We need to ensure Manly do not repeat the Aloiai behaviour. Our Chair by bringing this behaviour to V'landys' attention makes it very difficult for some action not to be taken.

Yes yes yes. Do it and shut the JAC thread too. I know I know, I can ignore certain threads, but who wants to waste time talking about players that dont like our club or want to be here.

He’s not a bad player, but it’s not like he’s lead us to the finals. I firmly believe he’s the kind of player that only the team he plays for’s supporters would give s second thought too. That’s why losing players like him hurts more sentimentally more than anything imo. Our pack looks stronger with Tamou and Offa.

I think this was very well handled by Tigers. If a contract is to mean something more than the paper it’s written on then it should have a monetary value. It’s probably unfair to fix that value by applying a standard mathematical calculation, so Clubs and agents negotiate on the value. It seems to be working. I guess we will always have contracts being broken, clubs reluctant to release valued players, and players agitating over that, presumably being encouraged by their agents.
I guess what I’m most happy about is that we appear to be steadily improving the squad.

This thread will die of now of its own accord.

For my my final words are those tinged with some sadness.

My family and I really connected with Josh A for some reason and were sad he isn't here to grow with the other forwards and JoeO. I dont begrudge him a better contract but it was handled poorly.

For the Tigers that's 3 (Moses, Matterson and JA). There are some lessons here

Tigers Forward pack is filling out nicely for the years to come.
