Anasta signs with Wests Tigers for 2 years

I hope this is not at the expense of retaining Miller, we need to be looking to the future with our halves combination, not backwards!

I like it. Won't make us any more likeable though.[/quote.

I like it to mate - stuff the rest couldn't care less if they like us or our Team - not everybody is as stylish as the contributors to this forum ; )

Losing Miller for Anasta won't be the worst thing in the world. The 2 years Anasta gives us, give us not only a quality player at the expense of someone untested but also gives the likes of Mitchell Moses, Manaia Rudolph, Luke Brooks and other massively lauded juniors time to rise.

Anasta has plenty of heart and never gives up, he has turned into a pretty good kicker too.
I don't hate the idea at all…

Please stop with the JWH teasers, i would do nasty things to get him in our front row.

Well it seems like Sheens has identified the Roosters as the 2012 club to pick the off contract talent off. Anasta and Leilua… why not have a dig at Hargreaves?

SMH says he will be playing five eighth with Marshall switching to half!!! wtf

Sydney Roosters captain Braith Anasta will join the Wests Tigers next season.

The opportunity to play alongside Benji Marshall has prompted Anasta to sign a two-year contract with the club.

Anasta's agent Greg Willett confirmed the 30-year-old international had today finalised a deal to join the Tigers from next season.

The move is likely to see Marshall shift from five-eighth to halfback next season, with Willett revealing the Tigers wanted Anasta to partner the New Zealand captain at the scrumbase.

"Braith will be playing in the halves with Benji," Willett said.

He also said the opportunity to play under Tim Sheens was an attraction for Anasta, whose future at the Roosters was uncertain beyond this year.

"Tim is a really good coach, Braith gets the opportunity to play with Benji and they've got pretty good playing staff so he is pretty happy," Willett said.

"They made us a pretty good offer, we were happy with it so we just wanted to do it straight away do .
"He has signed. It is all done and dusted. We agreed with it this morning."

If this is the team for next year then we have a good shot once again

1\. Tedesco
2\. Ryan
3\. Lawrence
4\. Reddy
5\. Koribote
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller/Humble

8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Woods
11\. Blair
12\. Heighington
13\. Anasta

14\. Fulton
15\. Ayshford
16\. Bell
17\. Groat

with the likes of sironen, BMM etc helping the team out when necessary

This is strange i just reading where his manager said he will be the ideal replacement for Ellis, so is he going to play lock? Got me beat, But i hope thats where he plays.

Great move. Good defensive ball player. I think you'll see Marshall to half back, Anasta to 5/8 and Moltzen to stay at full back. Shame we have to wait to next year though

x2

Leilua is a real talent, he sort of reminds me of Tuiaki.

If he is to play 5/8 then this is a very good signing. If it is as a backrower it is not.

Certainly leaves big question marks over the futures of Moltzen, who now looks like the man who sits on the bench for 75 minutes, and Miller.

Great buy!! Not only does Anasta bring a wealth of experience to the team in a key position, he will be a great ambassador for the club off the field, maintaining that squeaky clean image that stopped us snapping up Mason.

Also, this will give us 2 more years to develop Curtis Sironen into an NRL superstar to replace Anasta in the halves when he retires.

With Tedesco our first choice fullback these days, you wonder where Moltzen now fits into the picture? Was all the drama with the Dragons really worth it now that at best he looks like he may fill a bench utility role in 2013?

GREAT signing…I HOPE. We need someone who plays a controlling style of footy cause let's face it, Benji just won't do that. If he plays 13 then we will know he is the next Adam Blair.

He is a lock converted to a winger,I don't know if we need him,his hands are not the best either, but JWH on the other hand,a big yes please.
