Now that someone has mentioned LU, I hope this decision is not just because of that thread. Really Pming others, to have a vote with over 100 users (of this forum?) About who is the most hated forum member is pathetic. That these 2 mods featured high on that and the following comments and discussions. Now there removal here it feels very much all linked...

It shows the true colours of the forum - it’s a benevolent dictatorship, and therefore anyone who is asking for “more free reign” or more light-handed moderation is forgetting that ultimately it still comes back to the powerbroking and ownership of a very select few people.

Of course it is - the same as any other forum.

I never had any issues with Cochise (or his moderation) but Willow absolutely made moderation personal, and was inconsistent in his acceptance or deletion of posts based on being 'off-topic'; everyone treated equally, just some more 'equal' than others...

But, I do like the idea of the return of the downvote option.

The downvote option is simple, it's visual (obviously), it sends a message to the poster, and it doesn't require a comment. Could even be a filter for mods to look closely at a comment if it receives a few downvotes. Might actually make their job easier.

And, I would be fine with my profile name appearing when I downvote or seeing that of others when my comments are downvoted.

Agree with all this. Identified downvoting would put to bed (or confirm) any complaints that the function is being misused.

This is another one of the many many harsh realities of the problems of social media.

Yesterday a colleague of the forum made me aware of what i would call an identity theft.

A person on another forum site (League unlimited) is clearly making himself to look and appear as me, with the similar name and avatar.

And after some observations of the conversations of the posters on this League unlimited site it's clear that those posters seem to believe that the poster who is faking my identity is actually made to look as me that you see on this forum.

This is just another one of the ugly truths about social media sites, here is an image of one the conversations where that person is made to appear as if it is me.

Maybe if Tigers make the finals for 5 or 6 seasons in a row, there may be a bit of heat taken out of the forum; but I doubt it.

Assuming this isn't happening how do we make this place better ? I'm seriously interested ? I don't really have any complaints but I'm interested in how we can make it better ?

I try not to get into any spats or continue to comment with anyone seemingly looking for a spat. That's about all one person can do, without being a mod or owner.

Say my bit once then move on.

Also foe anyone who regularly gets up your nose, because it's amazing how much you can quiet the noise with a few tactical foe-ing.

We need to protect our ability to share wat we think and feel in a safe place.

Well when my FB profile gets posted on here, it is no longer a safe place to share what we think, about a football team for gods sake.

I would like to thank WIllow & Cochise for the huge part they played in making it that place and I do not put the blame at their feet for the descent of this forum.

It's a bit ordinary if Cochise and Willow weren't personally consulted about their demotion prior to being publicly dropped in this thread.

I’m not sure how word got out, but this wasn’t the first indication that they were dropped. I saw two posters in seperate threads doing a victory dance in an albeit subtle manner a couple hours earlier. Kul’s post only confirmed it.

Its telling that others knew before they did.

This is a sad day for the forum. I’ll show my cards by declaring I’m a good mate of @cochise . Hi is a passionate, dedicated mod who puts hours into helping maintain standards. @willow I don’t know but he does the same. The standards on this forum are due to our mods. It’s largely a pleasant place because of them. The way these two mods were treated including the lack of communication around the changes was unprofessional and poor. They both deserve better.
I, like many, have posted less and less over the past 6 months because of the drop in standards and increase in negative and personally abusive posting. I fear this will increase. Very sad I think.

The standards on this forum are due to the mods.

Anyway, change is as good as a holiday.

Same mods as when the forum was good, that is not the common denominator.

I wonder if any other new factors were introduced in the last 6 months?

So, to the mods and administrator who may be listening now could you perhaps give us some advice about what we can and should do about this problem of other people stealing your name and using it on other forums such as LeagueUnlimited.when their purpose obviously is just to make you to appear as you are attacking this forum and the posters here?

I have never put anyone on foe so far in all the years i have been on here.That may change depending on some of the disgraceful neo nazi comments i have seen on other football forums
