Anthony Griffin sacked

Time for Nathan to activate his get out of Dodge Clause (well, in November at least) and become a Tiger next year. Brooks on the left & Cleary on the right an awesome sight.

Maybe Gould will try and poach Ivan so father and son will be together !

Perhaps this move is a reaction to the belief this is the Panthers' window of opportunity to win a premiership while NC is still at the club? I did read that it was the belief of some in the club that Griffen was wasting this opportunity.

Maybe Nathan is leaving after this season and Gus thinks they have a better chance in the finals without Griffen

I agree but I am shocked at the severity of the action takien.

I hope this is the reason Tweed.

Tunks, the brainless fossil, is saying Penrith want Ivan Cleary back. Talkin Sport team saying it’s a possibility. Robertson having a heart attack!!

This move is for one reason and that is to keep the talent at the club … unfortunately eventually this will end badly . Gould I feel with this move he may well have bitten off more than he can chew.

Why would you take on that coaching gig while Gould is running the show - I hope they collapse and go out backwards and half the playing group want out.

You don't sack your Coach a month out from the finals, with the top 4 a distinct possibility, unless there is something seriously wrong.

I'd say the players have revolted, but that's only a guess. If it was for any other reason, it could wait until the off-season.

Jeez its good when the drama is happening somewhere else other than Concord.

Pretty impressive to be able to continue winning games with no confidence in their coach.
My moneys on the board members aligned with Gus

Stunned by this move. You would assume its about retaining Nathan and possibly others. Things must have got to the desperate stage.
Not sure how this impacts on us but no doubt it will.

If Nathan Cleary's motivation is to be coached by his father, it won't. Despite what Gould says, the loss of Cleary would be a hugt blow to his 5 year plan. Maloney is on his last legs and could barely contain Tapine or Cotric on his side of the field.

As a Weststiger supporter and being use to bad luck, no doubt it will affect us somehow.

It appears that Gould still holds his coaching style in the highest esteem, It also appears Griffen did not follow Gould's every coaching instruction.

That's a balsy move at this stage of the season. I am really surprised.
Must be a lot happening behind the scenes. As Nathan said in an interview on the tele last night I think it was - "A week's a long time in rugby league". Very prophetic.

Then why not wait until the off-season like they did with Ivan?

If all the players are behind Griffin, then this would probably kill their season.

On the other hand if the players want him gone, it might save it.

I know its all speculation at this stage, but if he has been sacked over backroom politics, then the whole Panthers board needs to follow him out the door.
