OFFICIAL Apisai Koroisau #263

It seems some have become immune to being laughed at for the club they support.. Yeh-mediocrity alright.

No... Just don't like my team being made fun of... Quite sick of it really... The fact some of the fan base are used to it is telling.... We are at rock fn bottom and this will never sit well with me

We'll know whether his heart is actually in it next year.

Looking at the environment and consistency of the Panthers celebrations it's clear they have zero respect for anyone else. Some of the things they are saying across the board is ordinary. Reality is it's gonna take something special to beat the Panthers come finals time over the next few years & most of the guys know it as well. With Ivan at the helm they are now my #1 team want to see beat next season.

Re Api, is it a bad look sure but lets be real next year we will be lucky not to be bottom half of the ladder, the year after pending new recruits who knows. Right now our roster isn't a chance of competing for the title. Api will dig in and be one our best performers - have zero doubts.

They’ve been that way for some time now. Extremely arrogant. They played a great game and Parra blinked. They’re beatable by the right team. Melbourne for instance.

You don't know what Sheens has quietly been working on.
Correct, IMHO, Madge failed to deliver, under his command we even went backwords from where we were under Cleary.
There was a hope that Maguire would further improve our defence, identify the gaps and implement the missing structures, unfortunately he failed. He just played it safe and re-cycled the same (mediocre, hopeless) players. Also, there were rumours that some players left us because of him, and that in general he "lost the locker room".
As we know, doing the same thing over and over again, and expect a different result is the life cycle of a disaster. IMHO, we had to try something different, and Sheens is the only coach that already delivered. With a possible exception of Bellamy, imho, he is our best option to break the downward spiral.

I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt when possible, and Api has handled himself admirably when asked about his move to the Tigers over the last few weeks. He had a belly full of piss and had no doubt spent a good portion of the hours leading up to his gaffe being heckled by his Panthers teammates. No real harm done, and I sure he regrets it as well.

All that aside, no one in their right mind moves on 1 of the best hookers in the game over a minor mishap like that. We signed Api to do a job, and leaving this in the past is the best way to ensure he does it.

Agree with all this. The amount of people saying we should rip up the contract. I mean, first of all: we can't. We've spent half the season demanding Papali'i honour what he signed and now we're apparently meant to sack a guy for making a joke? Get real.

Second: talk about the sin of pride. We're getting one of the best players from the benchmark team in the comp having just got the wooden spoon ourselves. I'd have liked Koroisau to keep his mouth shut but let's be real: he isn't moving here because he thinks it's a step up in quality.

He's made a rod for his own back with this stuff, because if he doesn't put in next year people aren't going to forget the suggestion that he wasn't really up for it. Ditto Papali'i. Hopefully that knowledge only sharpens their approach as professionals - it'll certainly increase their chances of enjoying the next stage of their careers.

I completely agree. Furthermore, I don't think that either player will be coming here to tank. Api is coming here from the best team in the comp and would want to prove he is an elite player in his own right, and Paps is relatively early in his career. His performance over the next 3 years will determine if his next contract is a big pay day for him or just some scraps. I think both are great signings and I'm excited to see what they bring both on and off the field.

I haven't seen anyone suggest we rip up his contract
why would they, hes the best hooker in the game, that would be a classic tigers move and that sort of mindset of having the perfect image for this club is part of the reason we're in this rut. whole organization is too nice, what api said was true, the only thing that's gonna change that is on field performances and you aint getting that with below average players that are nice. I've said it heaps before this club worries too much about how it's perceived by the kids instead of winning games on the field

Yep 💯 agree.

Api is a decent bloke and presents as such.
I’m sure if he had his time again he'd rethink those comments. Spur of the moment and emotions play a large part and of course alcohol as well.

Wests privately contacted him and his manager.

The situation was actioned both last night and today, It's been dealt with and dealt with privately. We can move on now.

Api becomes the 1st WT signing who is an incumbent Origin player since Terry Hill (99/00)

Api welcome to the West's Tigers retirement village. Here you will find far less stressful activities and a guaranteed shorter playing season. Enjoy your stay.

Ciraldo has currently brought no one of note with him to the dogs, personally i see another Trent Barrett situation
It yet, but will do! Chriton is tipped to follow him and there will be others. Think who from their state cup team is going to get a start ahead of their first team? I know if I was a half in Penrith I’d be looking else where!

I watched 360 last night i dont usually because Kent and Braith are flogs but.... Kent hit the nail on the head not just with the Api & Fisher-Harris things but with the Panthers in general.
They are bad winners and carry on like 16 yr olds not only do they disrespect their opponents as a group they do it individually.
Theres no doubt they are a good team and probably will be for many years to come but they are far from humble, they even disrespect their own club saying they are the best Penrith team ever.
One day that culture will bite them on the arse, all it takes is a couple of ACL's or a few recruitment blunders and they come back to the pack.
Or a porn video !

I reckon that's why gadget contacted his manager yesterday
And let’s not forget their CEO Fletcher got in on the act as well. Hope he gets some come uppance next year as well.
Hope Panthers( who I do admire as a footy team) have some off field issues that make the CEO look like a goose.
