I'm inclined to agree. Think he'll end up like Israel Folau. It's just bad timing for him. The clubs that are in the best position to take him roster-wise & location-wise don't have movable coin.
 
No chance. But if they have the money for Hayne, surely it can be better spent. Like a couple of back rowers and a centre for starters.

Tbf to Pascoe, Hayne played in an awful Parramatta team for yrs. I could list 100 reasons why he won't be here, but one of them would be why would Hayne choose to come back and play in a struggling team when he could play for a good team, one of which was the struggling team he was apart of.

Yeah he's from Minto…..If he was coming back to the NRL 100% and had to choose between either Dragons, Newcastle, Titans and us... I'm confident he'd come to us.... I hope we get this centre of excellence shit finished ASAP bringing it to Campbelltown may be another reason?
 
Given the current circumstances, I don't see why he wouldn't sign elsewhere & play against the Eels.
The fans would see him as a 'trader' only if he was to turn his back on a Eels offer (if they were to put a competitive offer on the table for him).

I doubt he would want to end his career playing rugby.
He's built a super star image in league and has a huge supporter base, I can't see him leaving that for rugby.

He was playing a 5/8 role in the attack with the Eels and switching back to fb in defensive sets.
Could be a smokescreen by some of these clubs stating they have a fb already locked in.

Littlejohn, Moses and Brooks would all make a good foil, whichever we get on the cheapest deal.

Fitting Hayne under the cap for next year would be the only problem as we could fit him in with ease in 2018.

Hayne never did much at 5/8 for the Eels. They experimented with that a few times. It would be a hell of a lot of money to pay to play a guy out of position, especially a guy who is going to have to readjust to the code with his running style (which was changed to less upright) and size (less massive).

I'm not saying this should happen but if he was to come here what do you guys think about shifting Tedesco to 5/8 and Hayne to FB because Hayne at fullback is much more deadly than him at 5/8

Thoughts?
 
He wants to play under JT again. The coach that got the most out of him and the best games out of an average parra team

I think that Tedesco gets the fullback spot and we don't really need Hayne. I think the money could be better spent elsewhere. Fullback is one area where we have a world class player.

Too much money to spend on a centre. They just don't touch the ball enough to justify it. Plus you want him to be getting regular early ball with space to move which he won't often get at centre.
