Are Fifita and Gibbs off to the Sharks?

its ok champ the truth hurts mate you okay take a tablet thats all youve got to throw insults and my english. just because i dont go cap in hand with what you think or the club

The Tigers have a few up and comers and Fifita is among them. BUT, so are BMM, Groat, Woods, Begovich. So let him go if he wants to get the $$ from somewhere else. I feel more sad for Gibbs as he probably wanted to stay but has been given an option to test the market (i.e. we need to move you one to free up some $$ for someone else). Good luck to Andrew if he picks up a contract elsewhere but I do not think it spells gloom and doom for the Tigers if he does.

C'mon people, name calling at one another isn't going to make this rumour become official any quicker. Please keep it civil, there have already been a stack of posts deleted by the Moderators, don't make us close the thread because you can't be civil to one another.

Discuss the thread and not attack one another.

Fifita agreed to a one year extension but then is offered a big money deal to go the Sharkies. He must have a good manager!!

You can't blame him if this is the case. They only have a limited time in the game after all

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the sharks have also enquired about Groat.

i hope to god we tell them to nick off

They might very well have Andrew in the bag but they've got buckleys chance of getting Groat. Tigers will not let this weapon in the making go.

Gibbs officially gone to the Sharks, three year deal.

fifita not far away.

they are still in talks with fults (as are penrith), but that may depend on what happens with toupo and waterhouse (who both clubs are trying to send to england).

Fafita should really look at Tupou's decline as a prime reason NOT to go to the Sharks. It torpedoed his career completely. Sure, he raked in a mountain of cash, but thats all he has to show for the past 3 years.

Not a bad move by the club. Players like Gibbs are why we have been sitting at the middle of the table. Its time to aim higher.

Honest tolier but nothing more.

We see many many players go to melb nobodies and Bellamy turns em into guns.
What about the other way around?
Turner, now he was no gun but he was playing better in Melb than at Pentrith and the Dogs
Inglis - doing SFA at souths really
Hoffman? Dunno really.
Dallas Johnson does what he does and would do it no matter where he went.
Im not convinced Blair would suit our style…especially with our every - now - and - then go forward forwards.

The unprofessionalism of the club and players is starting to really annoy me.

Bryce is on Twitter pretty much bagging the club and you just know Farah is not going to let this go. This is obviously the reason for the crap they've been delivering every week.

A lesson in professionalism would be fantastic.

what about Toleman?

Another pearler from the supergoose….we have just let a future origin player go...but all is good as long as we keep deadwood in Beau Ryan and Fulton....or why dont we bring back Cayless to cover his loss....their kidding this mob

Gibbs = future origin? You're kidding arent you champ. Brycie has been a great club man but nothing more. Wouldnt complain if we kept him but he would struggle to make most teams 17.

His defensive abaility doesnt make up for his complete inability to challenge the defensive line in attack. Robert Lui and Marshall make bigger dents.

Probably wouldn't have made Origin in our colours anyway, Spaceman, but he definitely will with Cronulla! Losing Gibbs I can live with, he's been with us a long time and is not improving, but I think we will sorely miss Fifita. He is one of the best young front row prospects going around, who can actually make good metres, and it's not like we've had a heap of those over the years. Anyway, maybe there is more to WT letting him go than meets the eye. Could be a discipline or attitude thing? He seems to have a bit of that in him. Who knows? I'm just guessing.

just out of curiosity, and i wish we weren't losing fifita as well. he is a great young talent, still improving, but as far as his job as a prop (which is to make meters), only 3 times in 12 games this year has he made over 100m (which is the average for a prop).

alot of his work looooks good in theory, his breaking tackles, and pushing people off, but he hasn't been making THAT many metres.

as i said, a great loss, but i think people might be rating him mroe on potential, than what he has actually done for us

what is probably more concerning, is adam blair has also only made it over 100m 3 times, but has played quite a bit of 2nd row

TD,

I tend to agree but I think Fifita has improvement in that area.

I think attitutde may be the reason why the club considers him surplus to requirements. If they didnt have good young talent coming through, they may be willing to tolerate that. But a choice between Woods - just as talented but without attitude - and Fifita, might have been a relatively easy one. When you Groat and Begovic into the picture and the need to balance a salary cap, then it may be understandable.

Perhaps the club thinks these young players have much more improvement in them and if they retained Fifita, these other young guys would be gone within 12 months.

That being said, I hope we can keep them all.
