I think he's doing it partially to add debate and string the issue out. There's 4 of them right, so the talk starts to dissolve if they all vehemently agree with one another.

But add a dissident and you have another few days/weeks of debate.

I don't watch the show so I don't care, but there are definitely people out there right now who are siding with the ref/Cowboys in order to troll / stoke argument.
 
My view , If you can’t face the camera and say it, it does not count.
did you see the demeanour of ANNESLEY compared to that of Lee yesterday.
and there’s more faces to come. You can see through them.
I rest my case

I think the NRL would be crazy to overturn a ref’s decision post game. They already struggle to find people willing and capable to take on the job.

The NRL seem to find it even harder to find anyone in their organisation who is consistent in what they say,Annesley just shuffles his feet in his mouth each week finding different reasons each week for his toadies failures.NO consistency and zero ownership in the failed ranks of the referees

Annesley’s job is to put some clarity into controversial and dubious decisions.
There have been constant changes to the process over the years, which is an indication they realise it’s in the game’s best interest to reduce the number of those dubious decisions. That’s all he does.
Jarod Maxwell will talk through those decisions with the group objectively. Maybe a ref will get dropped or demoted? But one thing is for sure, you wouldn’t want to be responsible for the standout howler of the weekend.
People are emotionally invested in the sport, and that will produce winners and losers every weekend.
Somehow, we always find a way to backup for the next game with the same positive anticipation.
 
After all the dramas I propose, any short kick off , everyone behind the line, drop outs to.
all long kicks , with the restart kicker , I’d keep it the way it is policed now.
We don’t have any luck in this argument , but the rest of our case would be solid .

Hope you are right and for once the NRL will actually do something positive instead of trying to sweep their mess under a carpet.They need to be accountable
 
when this blows over , I’ll have so share with someone , the insight.
But I NEVER GIVE NAMES as I know the source is watching.
 
If the NRL are really in control of the game they would stand down for at least a lengthy time the referees involved in Sunday's Botch Up which cost a club two competition points.
