Well at this point I would like to own up to causing all this mess.

Back on grand final night in 2005 I wanted to win so much that I prayed to God. That's right, I got down on my knees and prayed to the Almighty that if the Tigers won that game then I wouldn't care if we didn't win ever again. Just please give me one Wests Tigers premiership.

Transformation like this, the melding of two culture and the creation of a new takes a generation. Ie 25 years. We are well over the half way mark now and with the help of the NRL board members this process will continue to its conclusion. There is only one Wests Tigers and that day where it is the same for everyone is rapidly approaching. You can't force it without it being destructive. To change direction now would be a poor move and only create additional and unnecessary pain. It is happening now, just ask the kids. Soon it will be their children the follow Wests Tigers and it will be done. We certainly have not been a failure and we are on the cusp of greatness with the group of players we have now. Let's nurture them, get the processes behind them correct, and the new board will do this. Wait a little longer and it will be a long and prosperous future.

While Balmain or Wests remains nothing can or will totally change

They will be the albatross circling mercilessly over our powerless WT's

You can't see it Happy because you come from the era of Wests and Balmain. There is a generation looming and their kids that only know the Wests Tigers. That's why it takes so long for this type of cultural change. When the kids pull you into line and go, you old fossil what are you talking about there is only Wests Tigers, Balmain and Wests are ancient history, I've never seen either. Then you'll understand.

Whether I supported Wests or Balmain in the past has no relevance

The JV is controlled by Wests and Balmain

They won't release hold of part of the venture for any reason and it won't matter whether they have one member or a few hundred

I have something that blows your theory about all the young kids only supporting the Tigers smack bang out of the water

People feared that because there was no Diggers alive that the Anzac traditions and spirit would die

What is happening know ??

More people than ever go to Gallipoli and France

You watch , at some stage still being linked to the older clubs still involved in the NRL will become fashionable again

The only way we will get rid of Balmain and Wests is to forcibly remove them (ie legally )

@HappyTiger,I completely understand what your saying,however if a new board is in place to actually control both sides of the JV and make them realise the direction in which they have to go,ie the Wests Tigers as a whole not Wests or Balmain,then I think we can start having some confidence again regarding the future of our great club..To all Wests and Balmain supporters I speak to you as one,even down the track some years the children will learn that from a historical point of view both sides will never be forgotten,it was the coming together of these foundation clubs through adversity that the great Wests Tigers were born… 😛ray: :smiley:

Wests and Balmain are the petty agendas Geo

And they come to every board meeting with those clubs interests at heart first and foremost , not the WT's interests first and foremost 1st

The action is happening now. The transformation is in process. Look at it from the new fans point of view not the old ones. They will force the bests interest of Wests Tigers. Balmain and Wests will become irrelevant. If the board will recognise this, they will have no choice.

Well Wests Ashfield has gone on record to say that if Balmain are unable to pay their debt ..that there is no way will they consider returning the Magpies …It is WESTS TIGERS all the way...i think that shows there only interest is Wests Tigers....in the NRL..

That's while the independent board is there Geo , what happens when the NRL hands 50% back to Balmain when they are finished ??

The only other thing the NRL could do is destroy one of the two JV partners through the independent board in the available time frame

Does the St. George Illawarra JV work on the same principle of equal St George and Illawarra members on their board? If so why doesn't that JV have the same problems that appear to be so endemic in Wests Tigers? Maybe it is because they continue to accept that their's is a Joint Venture and they don't go back to selfishly harking back like old fogies on preserving something that isn't relevant to today's and future generations. Sure today's generations remember Anzac Day but they see it for what it is. They don't want to see it relived.

Going back on my Newtown experience I would say that if these fogies keep going back to Wests and Tigers they will have no first grade club at all, neither Tigers, Wests or Wests Tigers. At best what will result is a State Cup team as Newtown finished up with.

Sorry Happy but who cares. You are looking at it as if this will never change. It is changing and there is Wests Tigers and that's it. As Geo has stated Wests Ashfield supports the Wests Tigers. Every Board no matter of what organisation has board members that have their own agendas. That does not stop the Board functioning as a unit in the best interest of the organisation. I see it everyday. Don't misunderstand in that I think everything is perfect, it's not. But to change direction again now would be very destructive indeed. The Board is evolving, dealing with crises as they occur. Changing tact and personell throughout the organisation. The review of the operations is a very good punctuation mark, this is where we are now. We need to be here, now how do we get there.
