Army camp

Benji says “bro” a lot to the players

Is that too “matey” with the players

They see him more as friend than “coach”?
Used at the right time think is OK but when it's time to be intense or serious need a to have a sterner side of his coaching arsenal, I'm sure that when Bennett is rubbed up the wrong way it's not all smiles you would know about it.

There’s a new name for heart and respect in Tigertown, it’s called /Remy !!
We should turn it in to our team call, forget Queenslander, when our backs are against the wall let’s here Remy out loud !
Another thing is how they’re forcing Galvin to grow up quickly. I hope he accepts it in good grace not dig in his heels like a lot of 19 year olds would.
Maybe it’s a subtle indication that we’ve only got Luai for 2 seasons, as per his get out clause ?
Great first episode and shows the learnings of the past few years. Let’s hope it transfers into results - we’ll know soon.

That’s the lingo now.
Same as my generation (and maybe yours) saying ‘mate’.
Just don’t hear Cleary, Bellamy, even ciraldo whose a young coach too say it.

Think it’s a bit too matey for me

He’s not their mate

He’s their coach

I reckon benji still too young

Hope I’m wrong

The Klemmer situation interesting as he was fully involved in the camp yet now he’s as popular as a pork chop in a synagogue.
I guess it relates to the old scenario of stepping up when one of your comrades goes down, for whatever reason.
Let’s hope we see the camp learnings play out tonight.

Not to be ignorant, but isnt "Bro" just more of a NZ /Polynesian thing. I think thats just the way Benji talks. I think a dressing down like "Bro, you were way of the mark tonight and you are getting hooked to NSW cup next week. You need to lift your game." sounds just as serious as anything else, right?
