Has nice footwork and looks ready to me.
It's a shame how much more impressive young players from other systems look when compared to our own.
We have a lot of work to do you make sure the batch of young stars we have recruited can succeed.

Could of looked even better if we actually had the some ball ...

He did alright, would like to see him in the centres but suspect he'll stay on the wing for a bit. It poses interesting selections heading into next season as I can't see Talau staying on the wing, Momo will be back and we have Hoffman and Cini still on the books who are also centres.

Kepaoa made some strong one on one tackles. He is very strong and quick. I hope Maguire gets him into the right centre position sooner rather than later. Kei, Rizk, Talau imo are all ahead of Cini.

I don't disagree with any of that. Looking forward to seeing more of Rizk and Kei next season along with Liam Scolari.

Stood too tall coming out of our own line and got pushed back numerous times. Not sure about his high ball takes under pressure - surprisingly DCE didnt really test him. Also would have to prove his 1v1 D before I’d feel comfortable with him at centre

It's a learning process. Any young centre will struggle. I am really excited about Kepaoa. The Roosters had to release a really fine player to get SBW. Probably an indication of how highly Nick P rates SBW. Remember Manu had dodgy defence initially.

Yes Brooks is still trying to learn after all these yrs ?

I know collective patience has worn thin lately but we can't rush players like Asu. He needs at least a full season on the wing for experience. And give him time to get his body & fitness top notch.

Groom him for a year or two, so when Joey's contract is up we'll have a perfect replacement who is NRL ready.

The thinking needs to be long term with him beacause he could lock down a position for quite some time...

I went out to Henson Park to watch Ryde Eastwood play Sydney Shield. Ryde Eastwood have a bye next week and will finish minor premiers. However, they were up 30-6 and then it was 30-28 with 5 to go before scoring on the bell 36-28. Defence up the middle in the second half was poor and if they play like that they won't make the grand final at Bankwest in 3 weeks time.

Our centre Regan Hughes was strong again and is a real talent. I hope WTs are keeping him in mind for next year! Rizsk injured his hamstring last week and was out. Will be a good battle next year between him and Kei.

Curtis Wilson went quite well at fullback and kicked a few goals.

plenty of young exciting outside backs in Talau, AJ, Kei, Rizk and Hoffman. plenty of headaches for Madge moving forward providing they all continue to develop well.

AJ had a decent game too bad most of the ball he recieved were cut out passes when he was on the sideline marked by 2 players with no where to run but back inside

Yeah, engage the defence and then pass the damn ball once you create some movement.

Thanks for the update. Did Scolari play? I admire his undefeated spirit. Listening to Phil Gould, he said the first and most important quality in recruitment is spirit. Scolari has loads if it as well as talent.

I was there as well yesterday hahaha...

Ryde looked shocking in that second half. Uni were steamrolling them.

And TBH I couldn't see any of those Ryde players being 1st grade standard in the coming years. Solid players no doubt, but nothing special really stood out.

I did hang around for the Glebe/Burwood match.

Number 11 for Glebe (Myles TAUELI) really stood out. Absolute unit and is a really hard running edge backrower. Got a lot mongrel in him too...

I would be planning to replace Leilua as soon as Kepaoa is ready. Kepaoa is a big lad now but much faster and even now he looks far more solid in defence than Leilua. Temperamentally he is in another league to Leilua. This in itself creates another opportunity on the wing.

Yes he did. Limited opportunity but made his opposite number look pretty silly and then stepped the fullback to score. Did the hard yards out and he showed he can take the high ball.

In terms of wingers, Kei and Rizk have the X-Factor whereas Scolari probably needs the space to show his raw speed. They both would be well ahead as wingers imo but won't be surprised if he ends up either at lock or in the centres as his defence is pretty brutal and he can pass.

As I said, Regan Hughes really stood out again and is a great runner and strong defender from near Parkes? He will be a lock or centre.

Problem is for these players we have plenty of talent in those areas already. I'm a big fan of Tommy at centre from what I have seen of him and hope to see him there next year.

Yes agree defence was awful in the second half as I said. However, if you saw them the week before when they absolutely flogged the comp leaders and saw their defence you wouldn't think they could be the same team. Not sure what changed in the second half other than some terrible complacency.

Not sure how you could say Regan Hughes doesn't stand out. Scored 3 tries last week at centre and had scored a double at lock the week before. I'm pretty sure you will hear more about him.

You could put him there now and I reckon he'd go alright. But we're paying Joey for that role now and we don't want another disgruntled pine rider causing dramas lol...

Let Asu get used to the weekly grind of NRL next year on the wing. Good cover for injuries if needs be and at the same time he'll get good experience learning the trade. Don't think we need to rush him

Fair enough. It is a bit hard to get a full guage also with these younger ones because they've virtually had very little football or training this year which doesn't help.

I'm a very old country bloke so find it hard to take the blinkers off! I'd never heard of him until he got a run v Penrith in the trial and thought he went well. Somebody in the Tigers must like him.
