I saw a bumper sticker on car last week.

Australia, like it or leave.

simple and straight to the point.

yeah it sends a message alright. That the owner is an a grade half wit.

I jumped ship to a new company in November,
I'm on a full time rotating roster, shift work.
It just so happens my weekend this week ends up being a 4 day weekend
Sat, Sun, Mon & Tues.

Not overly fussed with Aus Day….
Cracking out the tools and getting some work done around the house over the next few days.

I hope everyone gets a chance to celebrate and enjoy themselves on Australia day.
I'm working the day shift on Australia Day and we're going to a barbie in the evening. Our
host is doing a leg of lamb, some friends are bringing salads, our Greek friends will be bringing Baklava and other Greek dishes and I'm going to bake a couple of loaves of bread and my BH is planning to make a Pavlova. Mmmmm, can't wait.
We're so lucky to be living in this beautiful country!

Don't see a problem with that sticker and what it says. Its fair enough IMO, if someone doesn't like our great country andall it stands for then move to somewhere that is more to their liking for whatever reason. Its not racist by any means.

Well some peeps get it and some dont.

If u cant see the inherent racist tone of it then well i guess you dont get it.

I put it in he same barrel as the "phwuck off were full' ones and the 'we speak English 'ones as well…..extremely nasty messages from a supposed fair and open society that are basically sayin eat meat pies and drink beer or we dont want you.

Another point......i dont see why we are so 'great'....ive been to plenty of places that are more fair, fun and have a sense of joy about them that we have lost.

We arent that special really.....should i leave??

Unfortunately, the implication is that if you don't like any aspect of our country, that you're not welcome. I love my country, but anybody who thinks it is perfect is a fool. I choose to try to make it better rather than leaving.

Was hoping to pick up a couple of Union Jack featured flags and head down to Cronulla with Jerry Seinfeld to celebrate our diversity, but he has been banned from the Forum so I have no way to contact him.

^ yes you should with that attitude. Try England. It's more your speed.

Nah….I preferred Germany,Spain,Czech Republic more than the UK.

These peeps have a lust for life and are allowed to enjoy it,not treated like babies.

You can have a beer anywhere u like at anytime.

Getting a beer or kebab late at night out here is a gaolable offense!

I see that message as condescending or patronising rather than racist…Masterton said it well.
Its not something Id put on my car, though I have an Aussie flag hanging in my garage/gym....along with a WTs one too

I think I 'celebrate Aus day every day, just by being grateful I was lucky enough to be born here, my dad always told me "Youre lucky you were born in the best country on earth"
Every time I watch the news and see the crap elsewhere on the planet...I think of his words

I think the message is aimed at those extreme people from other countries who arrive and want to totally change our country from our way to their way. Those that are grateful and thankful to be here - the message isnt towards them
