It's unfortunate but I have to agree it's caused fighting, embarrassment and from sources on here lack of funding compared to other more successful clubs it's time for a change of ownership.

HBG own the WT for all intents and purposes… I can’t see them ever selling … where would the money go ? It’s not like the directors can put it in their pockets

I don’t understand what it’s like to support Balmain or Western Suburbs or not support both of them at the same time!

Both have envious heritages with people and players who changed the game in their own right.

From a market POV. The Victoria Rd location is in a great spot for many eyeballs on the Wests Tigers brand. I hope it’s WTs branded rather than Balmain, but could understand why it wouldn’t be.
 
It could be taken as an insult to western suburbs if it’s only Balmain.

Perhaps the wests tigers logo and a Balmain Tiger and Magpie one side by side.

Reflecting the modern day and the distinguished heritage.

We can have our cake and eat it too.

We can’t tolerate either side of the jv ending up as a pair of socks aka the Steelers.

Saint’s bitches.

A lot of Steelers fans simply walked.

With the right people, either western suburbs or Balmain could usurp the other.

Better together.

Wests Magpies Pty Ltd (66% HBG + 33% WSDRLFC) owns 90% of Wests Tigers. The other 10% is owned by Balmain

It is effectively a 3 way partnership with 2 minority stakeholders. Control vs own are 2 different things. They own 66%, but there's a chunky minority that have a say on the board.

They are all swimming in different directions. It would be best for the club if they all sold out. But as you rightly point out they won't sell because they are not really interested in what's right for the club. Never have been.

Who owns the WSDRLFC? They have 4 directors out of 7 from HBG on their board ….

So HBG essentially controls 90 percent …

Also the Balmain 10 per cent exists through HBG’s generosity … Balmain does not put any money into the running of the WT or Balmain juniors rep teams

The Wests Tigers as a brand isn't going anywhere because the ARL commission own the trademarks etc. Magpies or Balmain will never feature again. We don't need to be joined anymore. It is it's own entity now. We are better apart.

Tom...I really don't understand the point you are making. You want to get in the weeds about control when I was making a point about how their control is doing huge damage to the club.

If they have so much control, why do they fight so much? It's a lunatic asylum and it holds us back.

Mate …I thought you were making a point that the WSDRLFC has a different agenda to HBG ( “swimming in different directions”) …. They don’t is my point
