For yrs Magpie supporters having carried the stigma of being whingers. Well throughout this thread I'm seeing a ton of Balmain whingers. Tables are starting turn. Guess it doesn't feel very good at the thought of the identity of the club you supported pre-2000 being wiped from the JV does it?

Insaneink, thanks for thinking for me, you should get a job in the Chinese government, your thought process defies logic, if I wasn't for the joint venture then I wouldn't be here, nor be a member or go to any games.. I'm just pointing out the obvious fact that the magpies side is enjoying the current predicament and are more than happy to take advantage, if you understand English then you would understand that taking out the Balmain out of the joint venture = no "joint venture" that's fine I understand business is business, as a fan am I not allowed to make an opinion? For the record I came to the Wests Tigers via Balmain, and I realise they only have themselves to blame for the current predicament (can't blame council, labor party, and the GFC forever).
My problem with this new board is two fold:
A) the NRL now controls us. The NRL has agendas that don't necessarily suit our club, and we are now powerless to do anything about that.
B) the time limit imposed on Balmain to either stump up millions or die. Even if the Rozelle project is approved tomorrow, it will take years to build, and years of trading to come up with the of money the NRL has loaned them. It's an impossible ask.
And if down the track Wests Group takes control, well the infighting amongst the Wests Group is worse than a days of our lives tv marathon. Wests juniors vs the football club, football club vs Ashfield, Ashfield vs Campbeltown, Ashfield vs the juniors etc etc. Are they all on the same page now?

Are the three independant directors just going to do what the NRL dictates? I hope not.
I dont think anyone of the three have been successful in their endeavours by being yes men/women. Its just as likely that their views on certian matters wont always be the same. One independant may agree with a Wests view and vote that way.

This just seems like blowing so much smoke. Poor buggers us we've been hard done by. Blame those mean Wests people. FFS grow a couple. In the first place admit that it was Balmain's stuff ups that put them in this position and then get out there and fix it. Pay back the debt and regain voting rights.

Just remember its not the 4m debt alone but the continuous funding required.

Feel sorry for the magpies in 83,84.
We were not even broke just poor honored out commitments and the scum kicked us out. Even Balmain delegates didn't vote for us let alone fund our juniors.
