I work in Parramatta and raised this with a pub where my mates and I go on occasion. The manager laughed and said everyone is welcome. It would cost them too much patronage to be seen to support an opposition team.

So drinking at a local pub before one of our home games is a massive issue for you because it supports that pub that in turns sponsors the eels. But you drinking at that pub on a non game day is ok?

Would stop in anywhere as long as it is not Parra leagues. No issue with what they do, I am just making the point that you will be lucky to find a pub that will market itself as being the home of the tigers. Our fans can choose whichever they like & will get served the same way as any other fan.

You can sell it whichever way you want, but we are not Parra's local team, will never take over the area and are unlikely to win over any businesses through the fact we play 5 games a year there. We are simply a itinerant football team that turns up in that area a few times a year.

I agree. Same as Campbo and LO, we are homeless and thats why we need one home ground. In 3 years time we will have three suitable stadiums to choose from. Hopefully the end of park football.

Have to say WSS no way, Moore Park no way, Homebush yes. At least Homebush is in our patch I think or at least very close.

Yeah ,homebush is a traditional wests area. That's probably important to our owners.

of the 3 options it makes the most sense. At least we can try to make it a home ground.

Except it is a rubbish venue that is too big for club games, no thank you.

@2005magic actually ANZ is in enemy territory it is in Parramatta ‘s LGA so that is the end of going to ANZ ...Oh dear !

Dundas and carlingford Balmain junior teams are more than likely closer to Bankwest than 3/4 of Parra juniors teams.

You could say very close to our borders.

No one is disputing the standard of WSS as venue to watch footy. But lets not pretend we are equal partners with Parramatta in the home ground status. Doesnt cement anything as far as our identity goes, and instead has us sitting under their umbrella imo.

So lets lose money by playing at grounds that do not cater for the modern game?

@cochise - why would the club do that. They have moved away from that model for years.
This is about committing to a ground that is traditionally synonymous to Parramatta and how that translates to our club and our future in a competive Sydney market. There are obvious drawbacks for us, thats all.

Wouldn't the same apply at Homebush or SFS?

Yes it would, playing at the SFS would be a joke and ANZ is a terrible club football ground.

@cochise Better than losing our identity.

Which would be? There is no difference for identity for any of the central stadiums, SFS is so far from our areas its not funny. ANZ is the worse football ground in the comp, zero atmosphere and no one goes. So where would you have us play?

@cochise Campbelltown, in the brand new purpose built stadium. The one with the leagues club attached, centre of excellence within. I can see it now .....the Harry Triguboff Meriton Stadium.

one can only dream.

It did only cost 370 odd million for Bankwest, and on latest figures Harry was worth 12.5 BILLION

Lol, continue to dream

@cochise If Wests Tigers don't want to lose their identity they must schedule ALL their home games at BankWest. This would send a strong message they we are on par with Parramatta as far as BankWest Stadium ownership is concerned. I really hope that happens at least by next season.

I'd be very happy with that, I thought you were arguing the other way lol
