Beau Henry

He is a young guy I think we should look at as a nsw cup half or five eighth to partner drinkwater.

We lack depth in the halves and he would be a cheap buy. If brooks or moses gets injured we are screwed and moltzen is not due back until round 10.

Thoughts?

Hasn't he returned to the Dragons?

Was another Young Gun 'Superstar' who hasn't kicked on…

Unlikely…
He just signed with the dragons as mentioned.

Wayne Bennet hates him.
Wayne Bennet is an idiot.

Hopefully the young fella finds what he's looking for.

I saw quiet a bit if him in the 20s when he won the NYC player of the year. Thought he was terribly over rated back then. Has never looked like a first grader. Drinkwater is a better option.

Im pretty sure he only signed a pre-season contract with the dragons. Same as the contract Lolo signed with us. Dragons obviously have Marshall and Widdop and in nsw cup they have Kris Keating and either Drew Hutchison or that Crooks that played in the 9s.

I was only considering him on a nsw cup contract and Drinkwater may be a better option but he needs a partner in the halves. Like I said in my opening post Moltzen is not due back until round 10.

Who will partner Drinkwater in the halves?

If akauloa isn't in first grade he may. We have a lot of good half options in the NYC. Either Martin, levido or Marshall may find themselves there.

Kris Keating….now that's a good back up half. But Beau Henry wouldn't hurt in helping our NSW cup team either.

Good option when you consider we just had Akaoula named at 5/8.

Kris Keating is absolutely hopeless. Can only pass one way and even that is below average. I'd pick Sirro at 6 over him any day.

Don't rate him KS hasn't got that bad of a kicking game but that is as far as it goes IMO.

Look I don't know if it's just me , but we don't need a back up 6 for NSW Cup

If anything we need back up centres and back rowers for the NRL side

No one remembers who won the NSW Cup comp

It would be interesting to compare the number of first graders lost from last season to the number of first graders gained for this season. My feeling is that the numbers are heavily in favour of the former.

Fair enough on Kris Keating. But a premiership winning 5/8 in State Cup sounds ok to me. Or was he runner up? Either way, if he can play 5/8 in a grand final NRL team he cam play 6 in our state cup side

I don't think we can hope for anything better in regards to back up centre's. We currently have the 2014 NSW cup Centre of the year in Fine, the 2014 NYC centre of the year in Chance Peni, and 2 guys who are probably rated better than both of them in Seve and Heleta. I don't think you can hope for anything better than that in regards to back up. Throw in the experience of Lulia and we a far better off in that department than all other clubs.

I think the uncertainty of our NRL centre's is clouding our judgements of what our depth should look like. We are lucky to have the 4 highest rated lower grade centre's in those comps.

I think Josh Drinkwater shows enough to be a reasonable backup,we don't need Henry, our youngsters will also develope..We can bide our time and see what else comes available in the next couple of years…maybe a couple of quality buys with the money we save....

Its not the back up that's the concern KS
